does she still have to work on her album or has that totally been put on hold while the show is on??

I would think the Album has been put on hold, although a lot is probably finished.
I think the Single is ready, but the chance to be in the show was too good to be missed.

I'm a bit fed up to read in that online Times news story that Diana's album will not be released now until after the play is finished - i.e. in the new year. That's not a good time to be releasing debut albums. I would have thought that she would try and release it for Christmas - although I know that everyone else is releasing stuff then.
I just hope that by January everyone will not have forgotten who Diana is.

I'm sure her fans are loyal enough to give her good debut sales

If all her fans buy a copy of her album then I doubt she has anything to worry about!

The highlight of the week is seeing Diana Vickers do her Little Voice concert for the first time. Tony Haygarth and I look on as she goes from Bassey to Dusty to Piaf. When she finishes, he is in tears and I'm close to completely losing it. She is truly something to behold.

Little Voice with a big talent

DIANA Vickers’s debut performance on the West End stage must have been a nerve-racking experience for the Huncoat teenager.

Taking on the lead role in Little Voice at London’s Vaudeville Theatre, the 18-year-old said she was determined to do her best and make her family proud.

And that was something she achieved in spades according to her delighted mum Ann, who said her performance this week was “blooming amazing”.

Diana rocketed to fame in last year’s X-Factor talent show and since then has been working on building her career in the tough world of show business. Winning the role of the shy girl who can impersonate some of the world’s greatest divas has shown that Diana can compete with the best in the musical world.

And she is following in some pretty illustrious shoes, her role having been made famous on film by one of Britain’s most popular actresses, Jane Horrocks, who is herself from Rossendale.

No doubt Diana’s X-Factor supporters will love the new show and she will win new fans thanks to her singing talents.

Her part will also bring her to the attention of musical directors looking to cast up and coming shows, which could lead to even more exciting opportunities.

We wish her well for the rest of the run and the best for her career in the future.
