I didn't know until I came on here. Not everybody follows every single thing she does every day...

It's pretty suprising that her fans didn't know about this considering how much of a milestone it is for her career! But this just shows she won this because she impressed theatre goers rather than her X-Factor fanbase voting when they hadn't saw her - shows what a large and extensive fanbase she really has!

I know it's a brilliant an respected thing an all, an I don't want to sound like an ol' sourpuss, but they ain't exactly pushed the boat out on the trophies have they?

I like it! Simple, not in your face. Would look nice on a mantlepiece or something like that!

It's a bit like a CD case with a certificate laminated inside.

Diana only Won it, she didn't make it.

It is a bit disappointing, and compared to the trophies won by the Golf and the Snooker bigwigs it seems petty, but we must remember Diana isn't that good at Golf and Snooker yet, so we'll just have to wait.

I was thinking a nice bit of cut glass meself.

The "Trophy" - remember Diana said she was delighted with it and would put it in her bedroom so that when she woke up she would see it. If it were the usual engraved thing it would not stand out, but she will be able to see on this thing the writing more clearly.
But hey, from 16 year old schoolgirl to West End star in one move - she wouldn't have cared if it was on the back of an envelope!

I've seen the script of her speech, but not the video of it.

When will it be on the TV?

She's been doing this for months and was nominated weeks ago! You don't need to follow every day to know that, just every few weeks should cover it!

It looks like something she would have got for 'Employee of the month' at M&S!
Still, it's the significance rather than the appearance of it that matters!

I'm talking about the win, which looked like what you were referring to. I don't understand the need of you to carry on this "what makes a fan" attitude. Whether someone supports Diana now, in five weeks time or since the beginning really makes no difference - the fact is they're supporting her.

Wow! How wonderful for Diana to win 'London Newcomer of the Year'! And I agree that the 'trophy' is probably better than the usual engraved stuff!

I wasn't aware I was carrying on any 'what makes a fan' attitude.
I have said before that it is not how long you have supported Diana but how much.
But as you mention it, my post clearly stated that many people didn't know what she had won, not that she had won, indicating that they obviously didn't know what she had been nominated for. You then volunteered the information that you didn't either, suggesting that you also didn't know she had been nominated rather than that she had won.
This was an observation that these people are obviously not following Diana's career closely, rather than a judgement on how much of a fan they are.

Diana even made it into one of the Irish newspapers yesterday. They were still using the 'former X Factor contestant' line but I guess most people here only remember her from the show. They used the photo of Diana posing with the award.
