Her album has now fallen to number 24 in the charts (3 weeks) and her single is at 31 (5 weeks in chart).

It seems like the sales were great for the first week but tailed off quickly after that. I guess that was her fans all buying the records. What Diana needs is to slowly build a larger fan base. She can do that by releasing a few more good singles.

She is about to release The Boy Who Murdered Love. Even on first hearing it sounded really good. Mind you, so did Once.

TBWML is not due for release until 12th July according to her PR:

http://us1.campaign-archive.com/?u=d...&id=4eb1b98d8a

In my humble opinion, the lack of commercial success so far is due to Sony/RCA/Modest aiming publicity at the wrong audience. Blue Peter, "wheelie bin interviews" (a Sony promotion) etc are not the places to push a "serious" pop musician. In contrast, her friend Ellie Goulding, recording for Universal, has appeared on Jools and Dermot O'Leary's programs.
When I visited The BBC R2 studios, I was told that the playlists etc were partly the result of label pressure. In other words, if Sony do not push for her to be played on R2 or on BBC TV music shows, they are not likely to feature her. The same with the more serious press. The album has not been reviewed by the likes of the Times, again unlike Ellie's.
We can but hope that exposure in the Summer festivals, the next singles and possibly a spot on XF will raise her game.
Craig Logan needs to get to work on his investment.

The Daily Mail have posted some great photos and an article to go along with the release of TBWML.

Dee finishes the tour with a good review (don't think there is anything on the video):

But pulls a sour face at the end of this one! :

This is better than the title sounds:

Did anybody go to the taping of this episode last night? I was wondering if there actually was a Third guest at the beginning of the show as usual or was Diana the third guest? I've tried looking on the Web or on Twitter and have not sen any official confirmation.

If you go by guest standards, Diana is not in the same caliber as Rod Stewart or Tom Jones, so I wonder if she did get to stay for the entire show.

^ I have seen nothing on Twitter. This is not conclusive, but it does seem to suggest Dee was a full guest: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00sp0dy

I imagine Graham and Dee would have got on very well, but not long to wait to find out.

Thanks VernonDeefan. So she was probably on later on like when the musician comes out after a while, chats does her song and then participates in the red chair. I know that Joshua Jackson and Chris Rock were there from the beginning. I was just curious as to how many guests were on the show last night If Diana came out at the same time or if JJ, and CR and took part in the show or did CR and JJ came out with another person, and then Diana came out later to perform and chat.

I guess we will find out Monday tho!

A short clip of Diana having fun at Bangor:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00rp378 (FF to 24:40, only occasional glimpses before that)

And a cover of "Once" by Theo Hurts at Bangor that shows what a great track it would be if Dee did it as a ballad:

The last auditions for BGT, broadcast last night, had scenes shot inside the Vaudeville. Very emotional for me. I don't suppose I will be on the Strand ever again, but if I was, I would find it strange and very sad not to see Dee's name brightly lit outside the Theatre.
Very strange also to think Cowell was on the stage only a few days after the last night of LV. As far as we know, he never went to see Dee performing. If true, unbelievable!

Diana covered Many of Horrors by Biffy Clyro @R1BW on the Live Lounge stage, I think.

I really love this cover. She put her own twist on it, and I think she sounds great.

Reminder, Graham Norton Show tonight. Dee talks of vomit! Nice!
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view...-stage-fright/

All this week Dee is on MTV HITS Channel, at 10:00am to 12:00am, repeated on VIVA at 14:00pm, introducing favourite music videos from "her" playlist. I have no doubt she had to chose from a list presented to her.
Today she introduced "The Perfect Playlist" sitting in a very American themed set. She also looked very much the American teenager, in short bright dresses and simple long blonde hair.

Tuesday : Debut #1's
Wedneday: Once is enough
Thursday: Pop with claws
Friday: Pop anthems

Dee appears before and after each commercial break and ends the program with her own video.

Buggrit. I had forgotten about Graham Norton and was watching something else on TV. I just turned over to catch the last couple of minutes. So I missed hearing Diana sing and being interviewed. Maybe someone will put it on YouTube.

No worries, it's on iPlayer:

Starts at 33:45 Not to be missed!!! (Note the camera angles at the sofa! )

VIVA haven't changed their clocks yet! The actual start time is 15:00pm

(Dee is not modest! She plays her own video "Once" second track!)

The Graham Norton show was repeated on BBC tonight - so I got to see it. A great performance from Diana - she's looking every inch the professional these days. Although she needs to learn to sit on a sofa in such a way so that middle aged men like me can't try and peer up her skirt!

'Once' has debuted at #61 on the Australian Airplay Chart!

Seems like it's looking to be released over there.

(while saying "Top 100 Singles Chart", it's only the airplay chart)

While it is good, it is a bit too much "comic" for me. I prefer the Graham Norton version.

Once again (no pun!) I wonder if the publicity isn't too soon? Will people be tired of it by the time it is released 11th/12th July?
