Well....I've just been indulging in Leon vocals.....
![]() Just how much better and more personal is Leon's acoustic version of 'Don't Call This Love' than the recorded one (which I still love)? His voice is just unmistakable - that vocal tone is so unique. I don't think any of this year's acts have that....save maybe Joe, for whom I have a wee soft spot, but that vibrato drives me potty. Wish he'd stop that! LOLIn fact.....apart from Leona and maybe John Ansell, no-one from the XF is so recognisable in terms of their vocal tone. I also love the way that Leon is sooooo relaxed when live singing. I guess I was struggling last night thinking about what he went through last year on the XF. Poor kid. He didn't get to mime. |

One rule for some and a different rule for others, it seems. Also, does it seem fair that 'last year's winner' has been handed the unprecedented advantage of having Flo Rida on her first 'proper' single? At the same time, it seems to me to imply that TPTB have no faith in her.

Totally agree with the last 3 comments.
There is no one in that showwho has a unique voice like Leon. He didn't have the performance experience of Alex and they knew it. Had he been able to do a live prerecorded version things might have turned out very different. Leon is a fab live singer. The only backing he had at Remix was one guitar (either him or Steve playing on their own) for most of the songs with the exception of a couple of songs when they both played. |

Extract from a Q&A with Dannii in New Magazine ...
How did you feel about Leon being dropped by Simon’s record label? I felt gutted for him because that album was fantastic. He could have pushed more –when he came back on the show the next year, he was nervous. The audience were expecting him to come back and smash it. But I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him Were you annoyed that Simon dropped him? Simon’s a businessman. Do you think she knows something or simply a throwaway comment. Here's hoping. Half expected Leon to get picked up for one of the winter reality TV shows (IMAC,DOI, etc). Full interview is here http://www.new-magazine.co.uk/latest...d-me-through-/ |

Has everyone heard Michael Bublés new song 'Haven't Met You Yet'? I've heard it a lot on various radio stations.
I can just imagine Leon singing it with his smooth and velvety voice. I so wish that Leon had been given a fab song like that one to make his X Factor return with. |

Yeah, I have heard it quite a bit. I like it,very catchy but somehow I don't think it will do that well in the charts. Not really the kind of song I would chose for Leon to get into the charts with either , soz.
Have to agree with YL - good enough song but I prefer Leon singing something with substance

I see Michael Bublé is on the XF in the 3rd week.

Hi Folks
Just catching up on a couple of months of posts to see what's been happening in Leonland. Have been so busy over the Summer ( I work in tourism) and things are just starting to ease up. Not watching X factor this year as totally got depressed bout it all. Been listening to all the clips of Leon over the summer and his voice really sounds rich and mature now. Wowza!! Been listening to a lot of Nick Drake, John Martyn but mainly solo Paul McCartney stuff on my ipod but still have time for Leon in buckets. Hope you are all ok and cute chick you are feeling a bit better.
