Re Fly Me to the Moon - I know, there was just no comparison.
PS Just relistened to that YouTube clip. Quite extraordinary for an 18-year-old boy, especially one who was untrained and inexperienced. There are always a lot of samey voices in The X Factor, but there has never been another voice anything like Leon's.

Haven't been watching much of X factor this time round - its just a farce now - but did have a look at a few of Leon's performances again. There's just no comparison between what he did (and is doing now) to the nonsense we're seeing. Leon = immense talent, class, determination, strength of character, sex appeal . . . John and Edward = "$£!!@!&8*!!!!!!

So pleased I'm not a big fan of anyone since Leon, its a bloodbath out there. I knew Danyl would struggle his performance was so very poor. Miss Frank were also prob the second worst performance so I can't see what all the furore is about.

Don't agree with you on X Factor 09 but at least we agree about Leon. Let's stick to Leon in this thread. it's great to see that so many people still appreciate him

Unfortunately, Leon also suffered more than his fair share from haters. Some people can be so nasty. It's so unfair

I agree - let's stick to Leon.
But....I am feeling strangely, weirdly ok about Leon not having had a second album with Simon and Sony. Not sure they are so good at planning second albums, TBH.

Never posted in here before () but i'd just like to say Leon's 'Fly Me To The Moon' kicked Lloyd's version out of the water as far as my opinion goes.
What X Factor is missing these days is an act who can "grow" and get better as the weeks progress. This year and last year there wasn't really any acts with major nerves or lack of experience like Leon had, thus it doesn't really seem like the acts can improve much as the show goes on since they were already confident at their very first audition. Most of this years lot have obviously had experience on stage. Plus the live auditions format totally killed any progression the acts would make from just four judges at the audition to 14 million people (or whatever) at the live shows.

Just reading over recent posts and must say I feel Leon is keeping a low profile with next year in his sights. We're gonna have to wait awhile for another album methinks. But it will all be worth it in the end. And cool to hear Buble still regards Leon highly.
Zip how brilliant for you to see Fleetwood Mac. They are just an amazing band and I'm a huge fan of Stevie Nicks, she's just so original, gorgeous and special!
I managed to grab (that really was the operative word) some Paul McCartney tickets for his gig at the O2. Wow, I'm going to see my absolute music hero in December!!

Ok I'll stick to Leon in the future, after this observation, was it not Steve Nicks that turned Fleetwood Mac from a fantastic Rock/Blues band into a middle of the road American pop-rock band?

I was thrilled to see that he still did, proved that he wasn't just interested in him while he could get exposure on XF. Good man.
Watching Big Band week showed just how good Leon was at that kind of music. His Fly Me To The Moon blew most of the contestants out of the water. Just brilliant.
Michael is still in touch with Leon, as is Dannii. It's comforting to know that they care about Leon and are still there for him
Leon has finally decided to get rid of his personal bebo.
It was great being so close to him over the past 6 months but it had to go at some point.
It had obviously become very time consuming for him but now he can use that time to concentrate on more important things.

Have not been online for ages but still loving 'Oor Leon'
Been looking through mags to see if there is any news regarding him and came across this in my What's on Tv mag, seems Brian Friedman still keeps in touch with Leon and regards him as a friend who would have thought that eh? I remember many a night on here us slating Brian for the dance moves he gave Leon lol... I scanned the bit out the mag and here is the link if anyone wants to have a nose
