dog has lumps

just wondering if anyone can help as i dont want to rush to the vet if i dont need to.

my 5yr old male labrador has two little lumps they are like big spots. one on his chest and one on his side, one looks like a bite as it has a scabby top. the other one is unbroken skin and just a pea like lump under the skin.

they are not bothering him at all. i dont think they are flea bites as he has no flea dirt on him at all.

do i need to go to the vet or should i just see how it goes. i only found them today and dont think he has had them for long

To be on the safe side a trip to the vets would be best.

Fatty lumps seem to be quite common on Labs.

Agree ~ best to go to vet to make sure the lumps are nothing sinister. If it is anything that requires treatment it would be better started sooner rather than later. Hope all goes okay.

The will prob be sebaceous cysts, if they are, nothing to worry about..

Mine's had one on his leg for months now. Vet said not to worry and it doesn't seem to be bothering him. If it weren't so expensive I suppose the best thing is to get it checked, but most times it's quite common, a sebaceous cyst, as nikki has said. See how it goes would be my advice

My eldest dog has had sebacious cysts on her head for about 3 yrs. Vet said they are harmless and no need to do anything about them unless they bother her.
Unfortunately they've recently turned crusty and started bleeding so she's booked in to have them removed tomorrow.
