new bug for Humax box?
Up till now consecutive recordings (ie: 'ER' on CH4) on the same channel have been recording with the padding I have set up on each programme. Assuming no conflicts I presume both tuners were used to cover the overlap. I had put the box into standby to eliminate unintended conflict with the viewed channel.
On the 29th August this did not happen and although separate episodes were recorded the second started as the first finished (after the padding which ran into the second episode). This is very annoying as to avoid it padding would need to be eliminated, the transmitted EPG control signals would have to be sent correctly (does not always happen) and padding reset for normal use, or a manual recording time set to cover both episodes and a chance taken that the programmes will not change at the last minute. This was how my Sky HD box behaved and was one of its most annoying features. I was pleased the Humax did not behave this way....until now. Did a software change cause this? If so a new bug has been introduced so Bob-Cat, please fix it, otherwise why the change in behaviour? |

From your description, I presume you are talking about Auto-Padding set up in the menu options rather than padding a manual timer?
If so, the box does not use 2 tuners for consecutive recordings on the same channel. It drops the padding between the 2 programmes, leaving only the padding at the start of the 1st, and end of the 2nd. I'm not quite sure from your description, but are you saying it now padded the end of the 1st prog, and the 2nd recording started after the padding on the 1st? Rgds. Les. |

hi savvy
Yes, auto Padding (I set 2m pre and 5m post). Yes it keeps the post padding then records the second episode. It worked fine previously, now it doesn't. Don't really want to change the set-up as it is good balance over various channels to cover programme starts and ends, reliance on the EPG setting only is too variable and often clips either end of the programme, this often happens on 'view' reservation. |

I'm a confirmed AR user, and I'm not going to set up my box for AP to test this as it will introduce too many clashes for my recording profile. As your box is already set up for AP, can you set up another consecutive same-channel recording test to see if this was a one-off, or is consistently performing this way? If it is consistent, I guess we need other AP users to confirm it's not just your box. Thanks. Les. |

That doesn't sound right, and nothing was supposed to be introduced or "fixed" in the .03 OTA.

Auto padding on my hdr when recording back to back on the same channel uses only 1 tuner and drops the padding between consecutive recordings just like the 9200
Can you confirm yours still works this way post .03? Rgds. Les. |
