Does anyone else think the soul has been ripped out of Leeds Festival?

I went to Leeds festival this year for the first time since 2001 for the fourth time and I have to say was completely shocked by how different my fellow festival goers were.

Once upon a time Leeds was for the harder rockers, V was the one you went to for a "festival-lite" experience.

I know the line up this year wasn't the best but I find it extraordinary that the crowds for La Roux and Little Boots were so completely aggressive (through young girls attempting to push their way to the front as opposed to lairy moshers) and the tents were absolutely packed to the rafters, yet Radiohead had about the equivalent of an afternoon's audience watching them on the main stage.

I'm not Radiohead's biggest fan but surely that's just bizarre?!

I also think the organisers allow to many people onto the site. I know in the earlier days I would often be sat on a bench watching a comedian in the afternoon being one of twelve people - thisyear I went to see a comedian and the tent was rammed full with some people having to watch from the outside.

I just find it all really bizarre and wondered what everyone elses experience was? I love festivals, I really do but I begrudge having to watch a band from the outside of an already huge tent when I've paid £180 for a ticket.

I used to love V, Leeds festivals but haven't been for a couple of years as they are just too big, too busy and the queing both car and walking is something that is just not acceptable. Last time I went I quede for 20mins for beer tokens then 40mins for a weak and warm beer. Was in traffic for 7 hours that we stopped in a pub on the Friday night To navigate between stages is a long and arduous task. Went to a little festival called ynot last month and even though it rained non stop was thoroughly enjoyable, same again for me.
