Especially since both Christine and Jodie did decent jives last year.

One of the celebs at some point will have a meltdown.

Yes, reading that back again I was unclear....

I can see Jo Wood being the "annoying" celeb this year!! On her VT on the video introducing the celebrities, I couldn't help thinking calm down woman!! I may be proven wrong though and I'm sure she's a lovely woman in the flesh!!

I confess I haven't watched the videos yet, but if Jo Wood is already grating then I suspect she is going to be this year's Jan Ravens/Penny Lancaster type, all pleading eyes and 'it's not my fault I can't do it'-type speeches.

Plus she is famous solely for being married to a famous bloke, which I always dislike. Say what you want about Hollyoaks actors, the price of their fame is being required to put in long hours on the set, even when the advisability of them being hired for their acting 'skills' is evident

She gets my vote too. I already reckon her agent insisted she get Brendan as a partner so that it flatters her 'bad girl/rock chic' image.

Agreed.

Alos, to whoever said Ricky Whittle would have a showmance, I don't think so. He has a girlfriend.

Does that stop Flavia having a fling with Matt Di Angelo?

Does that stop Brendan and Natasha having an affair?

Anyway, showmance needn't be real. Look at James and Camilla!

Forgetting the parade of guests on ITT who are "die-hard strictly fans" yet show a distinct lack of knowledge about the show...

And Martina's teaching Matthew how to handle his balls.

I just watched the interviews again and its official. Jo Wood is without doubt going to drive most of us mad! The good news is that Brenda is going to spend more time with her than the rest of us!

I actually like Jo!
I like the ones that grate on people because they make great entertainment.

That's the point of the showmance - it's just for votes/publicity etc

Unless you're Matt and Flavia and still together a year and a half later.

And didn't I read she'd already broken up with Vincent before anything happened

I hope there wont be any more fake, badly acted rivalries like last years Tom and Austin one.

Or any more contestants getting married during the show and getting embarrasingly misty eyed talking about how 'he's wanted this his whole life...blah blah....'

Actually is anyone else in the unfortunate situation that any contestant that has said anything whatsoever to the press about doing Strictly has said something that has irritated the hell out of them?

So that's Ali, Natalie, Ricky no 1, Ricky no 2, Rav.

But who handily have a new book/CD/single/tele programme to promote ...

Actually, my idea of a showmance is what Haley Holt said last year when she was paired with Mark Foster. She said 'the media is going to look for showmance in us.'

So for me strictly speaking, Matt and Flavia is not really a producer-induced showmance (show-business romance, i.e. not-real romance), but as it turns out, abona-fide one.

Camilla and James has the REAL showmance (i.e. fake romance).

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

*coughs*

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I didn't see their series but I was really surprised when I read about that Camilla and James one, and that they admitted it was a load of phooey...I admire their honesty in some ways, but they probably would have got as far as they did without it anyway.

Possibly Natalie, I can see her being seriously over-hyped by the press.

Hey and the showmance between denise and ian ?

Natalie, can't stand her. Plus she's paired with my least favourite pro.

Mine at the moment is Ricky Whittle. Not his fault if he can only give a few hours a day (although why sign up then?), but add that to "I'm planning to dance in a thong" and "I wouldn't do it if I didn't think I could win" just comes off like he thinks people will vote for his looks.

Which they probably will

Any pro who says:
"CELEB tries sooo hard!"”

You know you're not going to have anyone left to vote for! I reckon 95% (or should that be 150%?) of past celebrities on Strictly have said one or more of those phrases at some point in their "journey".
