Andy the bookie

Eastenders has done it again. Total insult to our intelligence expecting us to believe that Andy the gangster could get a licence to run a bookies shop. Come off it who are you trying to kid. Sack the scriptwriters now before the programme sinks even lower

wouldnt it depend on whether he had a criminal record?we know he is a crook but a magistrate would have no grounds to refuse if he had never been actually convicted.lots of gangsters use legit businesses as a front for money laundering.

Also, he walked in and told Shirley that her was her new boss. She didn't even seem to know the shop had been sold. If someone walked in and said that in most businesses you would at least ask for some sort of proof or call the boss. Only in EE...

He's obviously going to shaft Sam, and that will leave it open for Den to buy back the Vic

I hope so. Sam needs bringing down a peg or two, she's just a joke at the moment, and I am certainly up for Den getting the Vic back, as long as Alfie stays behind the bar though.

Oh yes, Sam is an evil cow. Council estate and loo cleaners job for her, I think.

And of course Andy knows all about racing, and how to set the odds for each horse, dog etc.

It's common practice for crooks to appoint someone clean as the licensee in a pub or bookies that they own. Pat had her name removed from above the door when she was convicted of running someone over and killing them.

This is soapland dont forget, cremations in two days with no inquest over the Hogmanay hols, Houses bought and mortgages arranged inside a week, children putting on new heads and growing a few years in the meantime. The list goes on. Eastenders is the worst offender.

As Andy took an indeterminate amount of money from the till, I hope Shirley did as well. He would have had no idea what was in there. Plus how can he run the bookies now he has sacked his 'only' member of staff? Where has Shirley been for the last few months - what happened to her relationship with Ash? What happened to nasty Gavin - and what was the point of that whole story (including having the terrible bit about her cat being killed - and in the middle of Cats Protection week too!)

By the looks of her Shirley has been on a foreign holiday - she was looking a bit tanned last night. Nasty Gavin was chased away by the Ferrera's. The point of the storyline was to show the torment that can be caused by excessively loud neighbours and how someone's life can be turned into a misery by the actions of a thoughtless person. Her relationship with Ash no doubt ended when Dan found out about it (I'm not sure!)
