A confused dancer and a pointless troll have a bit of a snooze.

Hmm....

Confused is probably an anagram indicator.....not sure that dancer can be scrambled into a name though? Maybe we need a synonym for dancer instead....

Pointless troll could be troll - r l l = to, or
Stig - t = sig

Bit of a snooze could be sno, sn or maybe zz

Hi Terence - confused is an anagram indicator and a synonym for a dancer.

Wrong track with troll but in the right direction with your latter guess at snooze.

I'm away for the weekend so a couple more clues:

Letters 6 and 5.

He's a current world champion.

Forename is an anagram of a synonym.

If troll is gnome - N, the surname could well be Gomez...

Forename Javier? Anagram of 'a jiver'....

Almost certainly not him , but Michael Taylor ( cricketer of the 1970s)

George - Michael

Taylor - sounds like man of the cloth - Tailor
Terrence Chant

Michael is right

Man was just to indicate a man named (George) Michael.

'of the' is passive

So you just need a soundalike synonym of cloth
