Can't get anywhere with this. Maggots? Larvae? bugs? My dictionary says it can mean whim, so a Dutch player called Wim or something?

Sadly my knowledge of darts players is very limited. I might google a few to see if there is a player called worms though!

Son is usually just S but can be lad or boy I suppose

Son is just the last letter, S as you say.

Bread or meat also would work as well as maggots or worms

Took is not a synonym like stole etc....it does give you the whole first name though.

He plays in the PDC, not the BDO.

Aye, it's always that bit harder if it's someone you've not heard of. We used to have a bloke on here who often did NFL players.....I was kinda glad when he left tbh

Hmm, cook could be one of those celebrity chefs like Ramsay, Oliver etc. It can also be an anagram indicator but I can't see an anagram of 'honour' working.

As for 'honour'.....Faith, Laurel.....could be BA too.....

Cook could also produce Baker, Fry or even Curry as a surname too....

You are getting there with BA, but a different honour. And a way to cook.

Pre WWI sportsman.

Edit . You have the name above, first names are initials.

Yep, dye with the lid off meant take off the first letter 'd' leaving 'ye' + n the top letter of noxious, as you identified. Well solved
