Sure this is wrong, but there was an old Derby footballer called Jack ( ie) Stamps. The surname would not be plural though I think, and where does the Jack come from?

Another clue I fear.

Dingle girl joins Andrew and Elvis.
Terrence Chant

Hmm, can't solve this one...

Dingle is probably an Emmerdale character, Lisa, Mandy, Tina etc

Andrew might be Rob, the rugby player....

Elvis.....maybe king?

One of the above names is correct.

Athlete, double barrelled surname.

^ Dingle girl yes , but not the right one , and think of Andrew as a christian name.

Not a household name , I admit. Sally Gunnell's event.

Needed all the help I could get there! Debbie Flintoff-King?
Terrence Chant

Should be right so...

A thing I ruined following the King of the forest
Terrence Chant

PL footballer....

King of the forest could be Marlon ( King) or is it the song reference, plus an anagram of a thing I ?

Rather a lot of PL players to choose from , I hope it's not a Stoke City squad player
Terrence Chant

Hi David...you're right about 'a thing I' being an anagram

King of the Forest.....on the right lines with the Nottingham theory but not a player

(4,7).....think he's a first-teamer for his club, he certainly started the game I watched on Sky at the weekend
Terrence Chant

Oops, I've just realised I've missed a letter out the anagram, it should be 'a thing-e I'. Sorry about that

John Heitinga. I thought it might be him but couldn't place the E. King John of Robin Hood fame I assume.

Terribly terribly gas
Terrence Chant

If you use the first 'terribly' as an anagram indicator and the rest of the clue as fodder you get Gary Birtles?

(Think his forename is spelt with two r's at the risk of sounding a bit picky)

Yes , mea culpa, or my bad as they say. I ought to know , my cousin has known him since school days and still has the odd pint with him. He lives in a normal house , not in a Rooneyesque mansion!

Swindle? Start with Con or Do, I'll have a think.

Well done on the 100k, I've never seen that before on DS
Terrence Chant
27-10-2010
Con is a good start

(Somebody else did once reach 100K, but then they de-registered a couple of years ago I think )

Terrence Chant
