Athers = Mike?

Bumble = David LLoyd?

Where does that get us?

The first bit gets you the shortened version of his Christian name!

Athers = Michael
Bumble = Bee. Ultimate commentator = r.

I thought of it in bed last night - but was sure someone would get there first!

I'm thinking beast may be animal - I = anmal, which goes in the middle (...an Mal...?) as the pattern goes around it?

Not sure what pattern may be though....motif, plan, norm are all possibilities.

Not sure either whether 'put' is passive or if it could be something like place, set and so on....

Animal - I is correct.

Put is passive. Try some other synonyms for pattern.

I suppose 'around' could be an AI and thus 'anmal' becomes Alan M, which goes before the synonym of 'pattern'. Trouble with that theory is the synonym of pattern would need to start with a vowel....Alan Moutline

Sorry TC I misled you - when I say beast minus I am referring to a specific animal.

Hmm, could be lion - i = lon, but I'm still struggling on transfering the pattern to a forename or part of a forename and the end of the surname. Will have to go away and have another think....

No need Ig, think I've got it now.....

Marking was the elusive word I was looking for for pattern....

Goes round 'lon' to make everyone's favourite....Mar-lon King?
