Think the Cook islands has already been dismissed by Ig in her reply to my post 1840...

As for capitailising Bony, nope that doesn't help much!

Might be Napoleon, (or as it's an encounter maybe a reference to one of his battles), Maroni or just the letter M if it was Bon(e)y M....

Left Jordan....well, nobody's tried Peter yet if it's not Andre. Could be the left letter of Jordan also, i.e 'J', but I doubt it heh.....

oops left a letter out of the surname so I'll rephrase the latter part of the clue.
heading to the south pacific.
Left Jordan and had a Bony encounter before a couple of bad dances.

Nope - let's start again.

Left Jordan and had a Bony encounter before some bad dances.

I'll expand the clue by saying bad dances in the South Pacific.

Little or no time over the weekend. Am picking up a traveller at 7 a.m. tomorrow so I promise this will be solved tonight.

We're looking for a hyphened forename.

Now that has got to be a giveaway.

Makes sense though....

Jo = left hand letters of Jordan
Wilfried Bony a footballer
Bad dances...anagram of tangos = tsonga
And Tonga in the South Pacific of course....

Well done Albion, fiendish clue Ig!!

Jo Wilfried Tsonga is the man.

JO - the international code for Jordan.

Wilfried Bony - Ivory Coast footballer plays for Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem.

Bad dances - anagram of tangos

Hahahaha! I just had a panic on, in case anyone thought my exhasperation was the next set of clues. I'm like "I bet somebody's written Dan Luger?"
I couldn't find a revolver, so I've had a glass of wine instead - I feel a lot better.

*bump*

anyone any ideas? 'Painting' may be 'art' and 'surround' an instruction that the rest of the answer goes around it.....

Thanks.

Presumably, it's down to me to dream up the next one. Being a newcomer to this game I'm curious to know of any restrictions. For example, does the subject have to be alive? Or whatever.
Terrence Chant

No restrictions, although personally I try to make them someone you've probably heard of, subjective though that is

OK, let's go with Cooler river party.
Terrence Chant
21-06-2011
If cooler was serener, then maybe Serena Williams but i cant make the surname work. Conversely:

River could be Dee

Party could be Tory

So I'm thinking Frankie Dettori......but not sure how Cooler = Frankie??

At what stage does Game Protocol dictate I give a further clue?
Terrence Chant

Again, down to the individual BD. The clues only been up twenty minutes so maybe leave it a while. Did you notice my edit?
Big Dipper

I see it now.

Clever, but not close to the answer.
