Right sport ......correct division too.

Mrs Mills

It's Per Mertesacker
Terrence Chant

Yup. Hair do = perm
The odd = t e (odd letters)
Fire-man = Sacker (sorry )
Queen = ER, interrupts ie goes inbetween the two

Can anybody name this sportsman?
Terrence Chant

The price may be Bill

Or possibly Alan (Alan Price Set etc)

At sea may well be an anagram indicator

Or verse at sea could be shanty

I was thinking it could be someone called Costa and the at sea being an anagram indicator. I don't know anyone called Costa Vere or something like that. I was wondering if we could have the sport up front from now on as some of these clues are getting more and more obscure.

david1955, you are heading in the right direction with your first sentence.
To play this sport you need to be good at maths.
Terrence Chant

Ah, too generous with the maths hint Mrs M...

Price = Co St

Verse = poem = ompe (at sea AI)

Co Stompe

Yes it's the tram driving darts player who is always on the wire.

Mrs Lennon = Yoko or Ono, probably Ono the more likely

'in' could denote the above bit goes in the middle of the name, or

in mixed = ni

mixed race could be anagram of race or an anagram of a synonym (hope not that's too difficult!)

or race place could be somewhere where you have a race of some description

or place may just be a synonym

Bear owner meets bird owner
