Is it Martin Jol? Martini drink shortened to Martin And similarly Jolt for sharp shock, shortened to Jol Neat wordplay with the 'short sharp shock'

Hmm, not very good on rugby only know the really famous players so some thoughts:
'at sea' is a typical anagram indicator, so 'finish in the spring' could be the fodder or it might not be that straightforward..... ![]() Finish in could be the last letter of 'in' = n, then re-scramble N+t h e s p r i n g, can't se it though Or 'in' could be an instruction, so that (perhaps) a synonym of 'finish' eg: 'end' goes in the middle Spring could be a synonym too such as water, or even a month like May |

You've solved 66.6% of it above David! There is an anagram partly involved, but it's tough as its an anagram of a synonym, which I don't usually do tbh.
