Brian Moore's saying things will get worse before they get better ie whilst 'Sepp' Andrew is still there.

Moody led a delegation demanding £35k before RWC started the coaching team panicked after one game and completely changed their (nondescript) gameplan Flood's pass out wide during quarter final match, hit Easter and stopped a certain try or pass to Ashton was way too high stopping him from scoring yes he's a bit of a tool, but he can't be made a scapegoat for everything that went wrong at RWC just like Tindall wasn't to blame for all the player's ills on the pitch |

One interesting revelation concerns the Dunedin chambermaid. James Haskell filmed the whole thing and far from being traumatised she is seen smiling and giving a thumbs up to the players. The RFU then asked the three players to give her £14,000 to stop her selling her story to the papers, not surprisingly they refused!

clearly (imo) the woman saw an opportunity to make some mileage out of a stupid incident that was at best borish ----- my number 1 bugbear at the moment is the media (Radio 5/TalkSport/press) continued insistence of referring to the one night of drinking as a constant ongoing thing throughout the tournament. I guess they think if they repeatedly mention it again and again, it'll give the fans the impression that the England team were constantly drunk throughout the whole RWC campaign - which they weren't |

I always felt that hotel worker was on the make - good for the lads for not paying her but given this why were they punished by the RFU for it? I guess the lads involved just want to put it behind them but to me they should be appealing along with Tindall.
In all of this mess I have to say whoever is in charge of PR at Twickenham needs shooting. Given the latest revelations regarding the hotel worker the RFU & the PR people should have released Haskell's footage & supported them and shown this girl up for what she was & the silly tabloid that paid her. I also feel that it was a mistake for them to prevent Tindall from speaking much at that press conference when the story first broke. Mike has always struck me as having generally dealt well with the press very well over the years in regards the inevitable interest in his relationship with Zara. Really he would have been best served speaking up at that press conference, giving his version of the story - instead him being silenced meant the tabloids just continued to run stories with their own agenda. |

Simply doesn't help that they played poorly on the pitch as well and under achieved in the eyes of the press.
The cricket team have probably been out on drinking sessions etc but because they have won well in recent times there isn't a negative twist to it all. |

Do they film training sessions? Did Tindall miss training that week, not put te effort in or throw up halfway through because he was hung over? The entire thing has been an entire media lead farce and I hope Tindall wins his appeal, sticks two fingers up to his international carreer (he's pretty much at that age anyway) and doesn't fork out a penny. |

I can't think of any well respected pundit who, before the world cup thought the current England team would have even made the final let alone win the thing. Every one I heard basically agreed that this world cup was probably two years too soon for that team and the title was New Zealands to lose. |

James Haskell is sueing the hotel worker ,Annabel Newton for slander , libel, defamation of character and malicious falsehoods. He has already paid £200,000 in legal fees and his s.olictors asked to make a full apology which she declined to do. There is film of the whole incident which also shows her laughing and joking with Alex Corbisiero outside the hotel room. She also wore England colours and served the players at dinner that night. Good luck to James on this one.

various things....
most of the English clubs look like they're heading out of the Heineken Cup. Probably Harlequins and Saracens are best placed to get through to knock out phase Stuart Lancaster new (temporary) England manager Chris Ashton linked with a move to Sarries, to hook up with his best mate Joel Tomkins. Do Sarries actually need him though rumours that English & French clubs favour a move to summer rugby how would that work, with the international tours and 6 Nations (also season ending in November would still clash with RWC) |

A bit of good cheer for the English clubs in the HC at the weekend, and also the Amlin Challenge. Leicester and Harlequins have a chance of qualifying , but what a difficult competition to qualify from. You could win 4 out of 6 games and still go out.The Irish and Welsh clubs have a huge advantage in that they don't have to qualify each year, and the French teams don't have a salary cap. If England can get three teams in the last eight they will have done very well.
Nottingham continue their good form with a win in the British and Irish |

Something about being a poor head coach in Rugby Union - it doesn't stop you moving on...... Phil Davies anyone? |

Welsh clubs to bring in salary cap
I don't see how this will help them to keep hold of their star player

Saw on the highlights programme yesterday Peter Stringer was playing for Saracens - presume this is a fairly recent transfer?

Well dome to Bedford yesterday in the Championship. Over 4,000 came out on New Years Day to witness a good result putting The Blues back in 2nd behind Bristol.

Danny Care has been arrested for drink driving. His second arrest for a drink related offence in two weeks, and has been dropped from the EPS and will miss the six nations. Idiot

Ben Morgan chooses England over Wales
apparently Stuart Lancaster spoke with him, so he must be a likely candidate for EPS (or at least Saxons) |
