4 more people presenting a match clearly freezing cold. Why on earth are they even out there? Leave them in the uk in a warm studio and save the airfares.

What a joke leaving it this late to call it off.

Presenting a match from a live OB location is preferable to a studio in so many ways - air fare doesn't come in to it really, plus they all probably went by Eurostar anyway.

I do agree though that the facilities at the SdF seem completely antique. The fact that the British national broadcaster is forced to present from what is tantamount to a metal shelf rather than a fully equipped studio seems completely alien.

Something to do with it being on top of a former gas site and volcanic rock also being under there (possibly to neutralise the gases) and well... underground heating+all this = boom. Or something more scientific.

Should have called it off when it was clear that the weather wasn't going to get above freezing in Paris for pretty much the entire week.

He's too young to write off but he has been out of sorts for a while and needs to regain his form & confidence with Leicester away from the England spotlight. Dickson made a real difference when he came on.

I agree calling off a match that late in the day was ridiculous - did they think it was going to warm up all of a sudden at 9PM in the evening?

Nah, it looked like they were putting all their faith in two giant oversized novelty orange HAIR DRYERS!

It's an almighty cock up : Paris was frozen all week and was forecast to be tonight as well and yet they call off the match with five minutes to spare and 72,000 fans in the stadium.

Yep. I mean, the Seine is frozen - is that not a clue that it might be a tad chilly? People were saying on Wednesday that people going to the match tonight should 'wrap up warm because it'll be -7'. -7 with no underfloor heating. Sure, that was going to work.

And lets face it, surely it is common sense not to screw around French sports fans - like they can't get angry enough as it is. Hoping they all behave in Paris tonight. Although I know some were still in the stadium as of a few minutes ago.

In hindsight the decision seems easy, however perhaps they were more optimistic than realistic.

The match in Italy was a bit of a farce too, with all the snow left on the pitch, cleared a bit here and a bit there, when really a bigger effort they could have cleared it totally, It made for rather awful tv viewing ...... and why did they not think of having a spare ball, which was not white??

Anybody notice Serge Betson when John Inverdale questioned what they would do on a Saturday night in Paris........ Serge was punching the air at the thought.

Well done to England in tough conditions.

Farce in Paris..got to feel sorry for the Irish and French fans who would have saved up and travlled for the weekend.

Having been driving in France a lot going from the populated rugby area of the south to Paris isn't like a quick trip to Birmingham from London!

Will the BBC take some stick if they organised the late kick-off (Daily Mail must be on their case!)

well I hope the temperature is a lot warmer next month or I'll be looking for something to do in Paris on March 11th

anyway hard fought (somewhat) undeserved win for England against Italy, with the farce at the SdF roundin off a pretty naff day of rugby

hopefully Wales v Scotland is half as good as the game from 2 years ago

do the bbc have control over kick off times? Id have assumed it would all be agreed via the controlling bodies and each nations broadcaster?

whats the temps been like in cardiff this weekend?

-11, but it doesn't matter because we've got a ROOF.

BBC had nothing to do with the kickoff time, it's a wholly French thing. And, as usual, being French, it's all a bit merde.

It was hillarious - they had only two orange hot air blower things which could only defrost about a metre diameter section of pitch at a time via the equivalent of a childrens play tunnel, and they were desperately carting them around the pitch trying to guess where the officials were going to inspect next to defrost it in advance!

For an event of this scale they should have had a hundred such hot air blowers working away since first thing in the morning to ensure that the pitch was playable, and maybe an awning suspended two metres above the pitch to try and trap the hot air in. It's not that hard is it?

It's been freezing in Paris all week so surely someone could have forseen this might be a problem??!

good god no, the Welsh will destroy us. France and Ireland might show a touch of pity, but Wales I think will be looking to the record books

What's peoples views/predictions on Wales v Scotland? For me I think Scotland will try to keep things tight and try to stop Wales playing free flowing Rugby and just pick three points when they can. I do not see the Scots scoring a try and if Wales are paitent they will score a few tries and I expect Wales to win by around 15 points.

They can't say they were taken by surprise as the weather has been Siberian in Paris all week. A major fiasco, as presumably the pitch would have been unplayable every night this week if they had even bothered to check.

Sounds like they left the covers on and were hoping against hope all week the pitch would be playabale. It should never have come to a last moment postponent.

Italy have only themselves to blame for taking off Kris Burton. His tactical kicking was poor , but his goal kicking could very easily have won the game for Italy.

I have read little about the blatant trip by an Italian ( was it Burton) on Strettle which should at least have been a yellow card , and if the ref had played an advantage England would have scored a try.

Great kicking by Farrell in difficult conditions, but England will have to improve their own tactical kicking , and line out if they are to beat Wales.

Is it usual to have the first 2 games away as England have had ? I always thought that they alternated home and away games

it was a farce in paris last night.
As a Dragons fan I have a huge issue with this, The Dragons were punished this week for having a game called off due to the weather and not making other arrangements. surly the FFR should suffer a similar punishment..
