I think the bravery of englands defence paints over a massive glaring lack of creativity.
This is fine in the old days when you had a pack of forwards that dominated in every game, now England don't have that. Lancaster is not good enough, his selection is not good enough and this England team is not far off of going no where. |

Did anyone watch the women's game? It was very entertaining. Not much of a contest - although a bit closer than a 33-0 scoreline would suggest - but the skill levels were outstanding, which is even more impressive when you realise that none of them are full-time professionals.
Watching the Scotland-France game now - if the Scots could cut out those daft errors they could nick this one. |

I have rewatched the game and I might have been a little harsh on England they were better than I first thought.
Eddie Butler saying "2 more games for the grand slam" what an arrogant tosser. I really hope France beat them. |

So Eddie Butler is an arrogant tosser for stating a fact, yet during half time at the Scotland England match John Inverdale said England's last match at Twickenham against Ireland is the Grand Slam decider.
Ok |

I love watching the women's game to be honest and it's nice to see a bit more TV coverage. Sky are showing the remaining two England games this year for any England fans seeking sanctuary. There is a huge gulf skills wise between England and the rest of the world (with the exception of the black ferns), and even with NZ in the autumn England took two wins and a draw in the series - so right now I'd say every English rugby fan should be focusing on the red button matches more than the men's game, it's stress free viewing ![]() I thought the Welsh girls were game for it up until the second half, when seeing Maggie Alphonsi come onto the field made them a bit panicky about being hit and so they shipped the ball too quickly. Not that I blame them mind I was suprised a the level of niggle in the game, but I suppose Wales are one of the handful of countries where England don't have a 100% record and they take that loss very seriously. Got to give credit to the Welsh full back (Rosy Fletcher?) she's tiny but fearless and put in some tremendous tackles to keep England from running away with it. All in all a game to make an Englishman proud

I can hear the uproar had Brian Moore said the same had England won.
Amazing how the saem rules don't count for anyone who isn't English. Jonathan Davies - pre match comments for instance. |

Ok They went to Cardiff and came away with nothing, Scotland pushed them close but ultimately lost (just like this year) and I'm sure Ireland won as well that year. |

I remember a few years ago after the opening game of the tournament after England beat France, Inverdale said, "England well on their way to another grand slam".
They went to Cardiff and came away with nothing, Scotland pushed them close but ultimately lost (just like this year) and I'm sure Ireland won as well that year. (I am reliably informed that non-Welsh speakers can look as though they are singing the Welsh anthem "Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi" by mouthing "My hen laid an egg at the top of a tree" |

I'm sure this has been asked before, but can't be bothered to go through 110 pages:
Can anybody tell me what the music is at the start of the six-nations bbc coverage please? |

You mean overly-biased individuals on a forum would complain about it and call him an 'arrogant tosser'?
Amazing how you're guilty of the exact behaviour which you complain about. Constantly. We get it. You have a stick up your arse about the Welsh. Try removing it, you'll be happier. No it's ok, I am happy with it, I have always said I would support any team over any of the other home nations. I am going to adopt the celtic attitude to the six nations now, and not care if we lose every game. All I hope is Wales lose to France......... |

3 decent games over the weekend..England and Scotland could count themselves unlucky but France and Wales look likely to have a Grand Slam clash on the final day.

Yeah that was really good, clearly a man driven by demons I think. He was a tough tough rugby player. Hearing him talk so candidly was quite an eyeopener. Tempted to buy his autobiography.
Well worth a read |

May have to buy his book. When they were talking about his rugby commentaries Kirsty pretty well accused him if bias - which is badly wrong. His passionate support of England comes over - but the Welsh, Irish and Scottish commentators are the same, they just mosty (not always by any means) hide it a little better. He'll criticise England plenty though, more so than the others even when their team deserves it. The other different between him and most of them. His analysisoof the game is waaayyyy better. |

I never feel (since the retirement and death of Bill McClaren) that an England v Wales match both home and away is complete without Butler and Moore commentating. Yes both are biased but the two, especially Moore are quite happy to heap praise on whatever team deserves it, and scorn in equal measure if required.
I love friendly banter between Welsh and English fans, but some posts on this forum get a little too close to petty bickering or barely veiled hostility for me. We are not football fans after all. |

Yep, I was a bit disappointed that England didn't get to push the scrum across the line at the end for a final try, as I'd predicted a 40-0 win for them.

She does keep england a bit wider though. I think Alphonsie is a great player but she kind of over shadows Heather Fischer who I reackon is on par with her and so aggressive. Big challenge is France they have beaten England twice in the last year. |
