Wales were bloody dismal and frustrating to watch, but yep, if France are "terrified" more power to us. Undestimating any of the six nation sides is someone people do less and less these days so if France come to Cardiff brimming with over confidence....bring it on.

The championship trophy will be handed out to one side or the other in Cardiff , as long as France beat England tomorrow. I do expect them to hand a reality check to the Stuart Lancaster revival of the English team in Paris. I think the French will win tomorrow by between ten and fifteen points.
Having both teams looking to seal the trophy in Cardiff will be a better barometer for Wales looking to challenge the SH countries. In our last two GS clinchers against Ireland in '05 and France in '08 m the oppo only had a chance of the trophy if they'd beaten us by a big margin on the day. A French victory tomorrow and it will be all on next Saturday for both countries.

Wasn't England's approach in games 1 and 2 "We don't care how we win, so long as we win." - Well, Wales are proving that adage right now, and the English don't seem to like that we do winning ugly better than they do right now.

Sure, we'd all like to see this talented team play with the flair they showed at the World Cup, and with the promise they showed in bursts against Ireland, Scotland and England, but if we can't have style AND substance, I'd much rather have the substance, i.e. points on the board.

WAL P4 W4 D0 L0 Pts8
FRA P3 W2 D1 L0 Pts 5
IRE P4 W2 D1 L1 Pts 5
ENG P3 W2 D0 L1 Pts 4
SCO P4 W0 D0 L4 Pts 0
ITA P4 W0 D0 L4 Pts 0

Funny how when England win ugly it's not described as "winning ugly" it's called "boring".

I've seen England win with a style beyond the hopes of this Welsh team and have the performance sniffily dismissed by the media and others - and very quickly forgotten.

So , you're saying this current Welsh side couldn't match the English style of a decade ago. We'd best give up then. People forget that during Woodwards years , the Celtic countries were utter dirge in general and struggling to get to grips with professionalism. France were what they always have been as in massively inconsistent and the tri nations didn't have the stand out world stars they do now. England's style in that period was rarely the deciding factor against the "big 3" but rather the bloody mindedness of Johnson as captain and his generals such as Dallaglio and Leonard. That bloody mindedness only came after they blew about 3 Grandslam games.

Running poor teams off their feet in the six nations , usually only after Wilko had built up an unassailable lead with the boot was England's style. Since '03 , Ireland and Wales have got to grips with the pro era at international level and England have slumped. Also partly due to the English failing to replace that bloody mindedness with the likes of Johnson and Dallaglio now retired. As in all it's sports , the current crop ar hyped up as the greatest thing since sliced bread after a few good games in the white shirt and for their clubs.

My prediction may be very wrong but two very good English tries early on have been helped by dire French defending.

But England can

Pts Diff:

WAL +44
IRE +48
FRA +36 (+31 at the mo)
ENG +4 (+9 at the mo)

So...

IF England win today, then they'd have to beat Ireland by about 15 points to win the title even if France beat us.

Sorted.

9-14 half time , France sensibly playing for territory now. Excellent half to watch as a rugby fan.

That ref is bent , you could tell from the start he didn't want to give England anything.

He read it as a two on one attacking opportunity , so gave it as a professional foul. We Welsh know he's a stickler for the rules so it's 50-50 for these decisions.

People complained about us Welsh being up in arms about him after the world cup semi. England are still in this game.

Oh really, I'm fed up with Alain thinking he is star of the match.
I've no clue why he is in the tournament after his performance in TWC.

I thought Gussy's humour was limited to wearing effeminate scarves until he said that
