Inverdale just can't let go of this dream of England winning the Championship.
If this, if that, if the other, blah, blah, blah, blah ........... As if Ireland will just roll over at Twickers anyway. ![]() Unfortunately they did which cost Wales 4th in the IRB rankings.... |

Every match he faffs around so much at the back of the rucks the opposition know what he is going to do before he does!
When he does pick up and eventually deliver, it's a hospital pass. Where is the young sub that had his first cap in the last match? Wales need him now. |

How come all the final matches in the 6 nations don't begin at exactly the same time to avoid any team gaining an unfair advantage?

Wales - very pleased overall. Not as much style as the slams in '05 and '08 but more substance. Which might just give us the edge to win a game or two against SH opposition this year. Title achieved with Sam Warburton only on the field for 2 and a half games. Tipuric and Shingler both proved able deputies and that we have some strength in depth , along with Ryan Jones for our back row. Ian Evans has been a revelation in the second row , so pleased to see him overcome injuries which have blighted his career to date. Backs are coming along nicely. As mentioned , Phillips strength is like an extra back row forward with physicality. Which slows our ball down from the breakdown too often. Priestland at ten can still be erratic in attempting to control a game and we need goal kicking as RP is quite consistent. The centre partnership looks to have developed a great Iunderstanding and our young , massive wingers can only get better. England - a huge amount of progress made since the world cup. They look far more structured in a game plan than I can remember at any period since their WC win. Farrell and Morgan look like talents who can go very far in the international game. Others , like Foden and Ashton have suffered a little from second season syndrome where oppos are targetting the threat they offer in attack. France - worrying that they seem so lacking in creativity nowadays. Their pack seemed to be matched fairly comfortably by Wales , England and Ireland at least in this tournament. They really should've pushed on after going so close in the WC final but they've gone in the opposite direction of England with a new coach. Ireland - need to be finding the next generation of O'Connell and O'Driscolls quickly. You can tell from today , what talisman both this two are in their forwards and backs respectively. Some excellent backs have come thorough over the past few years in Earls and Kearney but their front and second row strength is on the wane. Italy - a well deserved win today. People might cite a lack of progress in terms if consistent results but the French won little in their first few decades when they joined the home nations to make it five. Scotland - a feel sorry for them that the talent isn't there in sufficient numbers. Difficult enough when you only have two professional sides but perhaps a change of coach with fresh ideas might improve the teams performance. Long term , as with Wales and England now , it might be good to give youth their head. I thought this was a very good tournament overall in terms of quality and decent times to watch. Just hope enough teams can push on and do well on their summer tours and in next seasons autumn contests against the south. |

Good win for England. Nice to see Youngs score a try by playing what he saw in front of him.
Although Lancaster has his doubters, considering the players he has identified, the style he has incorporated, that England have 4/5 and 3 away wins, seems he has what it takes to be head coach. |

Got to laugh at some of the few bitter english people on here lol. Every time Wales win a grand slam they spew out the same old garbage. " was a poor 6 nations which is why Wales only won the grand slam ".
It stinks of pure jealousy and bad sportmanship. There have been at least 2 classic amazing games of rugby in this 6 nations. Wales v England and England v France. Both games were a brilliand advert for northen hemisphere rugby, and any bitter English fans who don't agree obviously don't have a clue about the game of rugby union. |

Wales and England. Two young teams flying the flag for the NH and who will over time get better and better. It was Wales' day though and Im still on cloud 9 but it wasn't the end of the days rugby. Great performance against Ireland it must be said.

What a fantastic tournament!
Can't begrudge Wales their grand slam, totally deserved, and 3 in 8 years now, wow! England should take great heart from their campaign too. With the lowest of expectations going in, they've completely blown them away. Lancaster MUST get the job now surely, and hopefully the RFU will ensure that Andy Farrell's there with him, and Rowntree. With Wales on fire, and England showing genuine promise, it's exciting times for NH rugby. It's a shame that France and Ireland are going off the boil again, but England and Wales should give the SH a good game or two. Can't wait to see them in action later in the year. Well done Wales, and come on England! Bravo. |

Just rolled out of bed. Great match and another grand slam
Fantastic day in Cardiff I didn't watch the following match but I've heard all good things if Lancaster doesn't get the job well it's a disgrace.

Well done to Wales, a third grand slam in 8 years is mightily impressive.
I'm very happy with the way England have performed in this 6Nations though, very happy. I fnot for one moment of brilliance in the Wales game (or indeed a spot of luck from the TMO) it could have been our Grand Slam, but there we go. As much as Ben Morgan had a stormer in the loose yesterday, the MOTM award should have gone to Alex Corbesiero. That was, without doubt, in my eyes anyway, the best scrummaging display from a prop in this 6 Nations. Not just for the demolition job on Court, but for the fact that he gave Mike Ross a hard time as well. Lots has been made of Court being young and inexperienced, but Ross was suffering from the very first scrum, and don't forget Corbs only debuted against Italy in last years 6 Nations, so it's not like he's massively experienced himself. It's good to see us scoring tries as well, Ben Youngs finally showing glimpses of the player he was last year. Fair play to Ireland, that first half was a corker to watch, maybe slow and lumbering to some and riddled with mistakes, but games like that bring out character and both teams I thought played superbly in the conditions. Losing Mike Ross was the turning point, once the scrum buckled everything else fell apart. I'm now very much looking forward to the summer tours. That's the real test, if we can hold out own against the SH teams then we can start talking about how good this team is. Same goes for Wales too, they have to start beating SH teams, or this Grand Slam will amount to nothing. |
