I hope that satisfies Peter Wheeler and his solicitors.

Or does he still want a replay?

Rumour is that the Ospreys physio recommends Byrne takes out 10 days to sort his toe out anyway.

Peter Squeeler is gonna get 16 post cards from San Sebastien.

hey, Ellie, an Osprey is coming your way. Liam Davies is on loan to London Welsh. Some view this with surprise as Liam is not rated by some. On the other hand, got the man of the match in the win against Munster last December. Let us know how he gets on!

Sounds like a fair fine and penalty for me, not heard anyone calling for a replay or being thrown out as they did with England in 2003.

Lee Byrne is to appeal the length of the ban so Warren Gatland has delayed announcing his team for the England match.

you cant win games with such bad scrummeging and linouts.

The fact they are close is a credit to their defence. But the lineout is so bad and the scrum is just awfull! They are gonna get smashed there every week.

I didn't go to the Cov match, but I hear he was ok, slightly rusty, but that's to be expected as he's got new team mates now.

I'll know more after the forthcoming Bedford and Bristol matches.

Exactly. Leicester have always made it clear that they did not want a replay, just to have the regulations clarified for future reference.

My team , Nottingham, are having a tough time recently. No real explanation for this.

The big stuff starts on Saturday. England look to be in for a difficult time this year. But please at least beat Wales.

The appeal has been succesful with the ban overturned and replaced with a €5,000 fine.

I doubt people would feel the same had he been English and it was Leicester, probably calls for life time bans. Hey ho

I am playing a vets game in the morning then back to the club for the game.

England to win by 15 points.

Rees is out of the Wales team for Saturday. I have to say Garath Williams who is replacing him has been excellent in every game I have seen him play, good unit for Gethin Jenkins too.

You've got a very selective memory as Leicester won the Heineken Cup against Munster in 2002 due to blatant cheating of Neil Back. Nobody was calling for lifetime ban then.

I actually think that may be the most selective memory of all
Leicester were leading 15-9 Munster had to score a try from that scrum to win the game. It wasn't a guarentee. People tell that story as if Munster were over the try line and all stringer had to do was put the ball down.

All flankers cheat, they all handle the ball when they shouldn't. It is not the same as fielding an extra player.

Doesn't make it right though. Remind me how long was the extra player on the pitch.

The extra player played a crucial part in stopping an attacking move. Niel back cheated without doubt but at least he was supposed to be there!

Ciprani Off To Oz?

it's possible I suppose, however.....

when unknown nobody scriptwriters are trying to drum up interest in their new film projects, they often send out scripts to all and sundry. This means they can then release something to the press saying "Victoria Beckhham to star in new sci-fi blockbuster" or something similar.

Of course the person involved has no intention of ever starring in the film project, but the media reports it as such.

in the case of Melbourne Rebels they are trying to attract attention and convince people to join them. What better way of doing this than releasing a list of fantasy players who they reckon will/could join them.

methinks The Times and Guardian are slightly over egging this

That was Wheeler's point. Trouble is, nobody agrees with him hence the verdict and the result of the appeal. Personal opinion of course having no bearing whatsoever.

It doesn't have a bearing at all to me personaly, I am niether a Leicester fan nor and Ospreys fan.

I would ask what the Ospreys fans would have felt had the boot been on the other foot? I doubt they would have gone quietly into the night shrugging their shoulders and saying "oh well, the better team won".

I know if had happend to my team I would have been very upset. The Ospreys were the better team on the day but that doesn't mean they were entitled to the victory.

Certainly is.

The old English addage has come into play again with this one ...... if they can't win on the pitch, then they will try and win off the pitch.

Nice try ..... are they scared of us or something?

Shame about Gethin.

Riki Flutey's now out injured replaced by Toby Flood to partner Tait. Jamie Roberts must fancy his chances if Wales get good ball.

I really can't call this one. There's a lot of confidence about this team in Wales but it's still based on the 2008 slam and the early victories in last years tournaments. Gatland has correctly stated that we've won 8 out of the last 10 6nations matches. I thought our last match against Australia was a bit of a backward step in terms of being bullied out of the match up front , which hasn't happened much under Gatland.
England are a bit of an unknown quantity after getting the majority of injured players back who missed the Autumn series. It's fascinating as ever.
