Well done England. With 3 games at home and trip to Ireland for us , I think these two sides will end the tournament in mid table with 3 wins each.

17 points conceded when Alun Wyn Jones was off the pitch says it all. He made a stupid mistake and I hope he learns from it.

Too many errors from us and we gifted England some of those points, simple as

Well done England and see you in Cardiff next year

And now onto Scotland

Generally a rotten performance by the welsh team in the first 6N game . However a few players deserved special mention.

Alun Wyn Jones who swung the game decisively against Wales with 17 points for England !

Gareth Cooper , whose selection defied reason . He played , kicked and passed like a cretin. This should be his last game.

James Hook and Stephen Jones also had poor games despite a few points .

Finally Gareth Williams whose debut was a 'mare especially in the line out.

A real shame and for the oppo to score 30 points showed how bad we played. Gatland should have brought on the subs earlier as most did improve things for us .

Better second half, though was quite bemused by Wales at times, they're better than that. Wonder what Mr Ackford will have made of it

Had to laugh at Jiffy (Jonathan Davies) rueing the day he agreed to travel up to Murrayfield on a minibus with John Inverdale & Co.

No doubt we will hear about it from him tomorrow.

He's had a good few years of dishing it out , so will have to take it in return now.

Apart from scoring an excellent try & setting up one which a half-decent winger would have scored.

Hook & Tait provided the only real bits of quality in a mediocre match. Even though Wilkinson's goal kicking was exemplary, I do feel if England's game is to progress & make use of some talented backs, they'd be better with Flood at fly-half.

Great win by England, even if the scrum penaltys they kept conceding were dubious! and as for the holding on penaltys which only the English seemed to get penalised for.

Credit to England they stopped a good Welsh team and played the better rugby.

.
He had some good moments but outweighed by the ball he wasted as he waited too long to pass.
However Hook was low on the list of worst welsh players today who gifted possession or missed scoring opportunities.

His goal kicking is weak and I can't believe Neil Jenkins has worked with him given the current quality of his kicking.

But as Jonathan Davies said at half time, he isn't even the regular kicker for the Ospreys so it makes even less sense.

Leigh Halfpenny would have been the far better option on the right wing, for both his play and his goal kicking. I still don't know why they selected Tom James ahead of him?

Credit to Hook though, every time he got the ball he did try to do something with it, strighten the line, go though the middle etc, rather than just pass it to the wing.

Shame that Shane Williams hardly got a sniff of the ball.

Get the line-out sorted out, our front row back in tact, and Peel or Phillips back at scrum half and we may go on to greater things from here.

As for England, they won but I am thankful that I don't have to watch and support their style of play ....... it would drive me senseless the way they manage to create the most mundane rugby, a win may be some compensation though...... but what about when they lose. No wonder the English have been down in the dumps big style!

When Wales play their next four games, win, los or draw, they will be more exciting affairs than this match.

Sense and Gatlands ideas don't go together at the moment. Those early kicks were both within Jones first half range so why didn't he take them ?

Another thing is the touch kicks. Byrne can outkick SJ by 20 metres at least so why doesnt he do 'em. Gatland & co need to buck up their ideas.

Don't like the new England kit much looks like it's been through about 100 washes or something!
It was a special commemorative strip copied (ish) from the strip worn in the first match 100 year ago. Same style and colour but using modern fabric. Apart from the light green hue it had by the end of the game, I much preferred it.

Hate the way Moore forgets that he is a commentator and just chats away like a drunk spectator most people would step away from ....
that's the bit I like best!
