Do you still do the " dead ants" stuff , and are you forced to start singing bawdy songs before you've even had half a pint? Two things I don't miss from my very brief career.

Holland is a great place though , should be a good tour.

My team , Nottingham, crashed against the mighty Doncaster last week , so we will not be in the Premiership next year, though even if we had won the play-offs we would not have been promoted. And we would have lost every match.

Too be honest with you, I like a sing along. As for the rest of it I am a little to old. I like the banter and have a few old friends I have toured with for 10 years so we know how to enjoy it. It's quite interesting watching the young guys on their 1st and 2nd tours.

The championship is effectivly 2 leagues in 1 with the haves and the have nots I am afraid. the play offs have only been added as a way to try and look like it isnt just a 1 horse race.

I've only been on cricket tours and I like all the banter , horseplay etc. With rugby clubs though , it always seemed a bit forced. I like a few pints before the singing starts, and you miss the after game chat that you have as a cricket player.

Nottingham have done very well indeed over the past few seasons. They could well have gone under like a few better known clubs and be in the East Midlands division three league or something.

Hi, I don't know if this is the correct place, but I will try anyway, does anyone who follows Rugby Union (or for that matter Rugby League), remember the cross code challange between Wigan and Bath, I was just wondering will there ever be another set of games, or was that a complete one of set of matches?

I was just thinking about them (for some strange reason), and thought I would ask on the fourm, with people farmore knowledgeable than I am on this subject.

Many thanks for any replies.

I forget the actual scores , but it was something like 70-0 to Wigan at League and 45-12 to Bath at Union. The games were a farce and are not likely to be repeated. I recall that Guscott refused to play, correctly believing the games to be pointless.

They were very predictable results as there were elements in both games which are very hard to adjust to if you play the other.

I thought at the time that a hybrid game might develop - it didn't.

Sale won last night to really help their chances of staying up.
I love Ellie

Yes, I went to the RU one at Twickenham.
Craig Murdock scored a long range try for Wigan.
Tuigamala was in the back row with Scott Quinell.

Rumours of a Friday night start with Wales v England for next seasons 6 nations. Bad idea IMHO , as it's one fixture that should always be on a Saturday.

hmm don't think it's that bad an idea, no worse than the Sunday matches (unless your name's Euan Murray)

I enjoyed watch the France game this year, I'm sure it would be just as good an atmosphere for an England match

In Max Boyce sing along mode

"I was there, yes I was there"

Not a great game, too many handling errors, but it was thrilling, it was a derby, it was my twins birthday treat and we won!

Sale also played St Helens in a match where it was union one half and league rules the other.

I think it was 40-0 sale in the first half and 39-0 to the saints in the 2nd.

There were rumours that the wallabies were going to play the Kangeroos but never happened.

Quote:
“All Black star Dan Carter has revealed he would love to play rugby league.

But while the prospect of playing in the NRL appeals to Carter, he is resigned to being a one-code man.

Most NRL clubs would jump at the opportunity to sign the record-breaking New Zealand rugby union points scorer, but Carter has written off his own chances.

''I would love to play in the NRL, I love watching it, but I've never played the game,'' Carter told The Sydney Morning Herald.

''By the time I get into a situation where I'm reassessing my future I'll just be one of the old boys running around.''”

How good would it be to see Dan Carter in the NRL? That would be awesome!!!

onto Europe

Heineken Cup
Saints are the last remaining Premiership club and face a tough tie away to Munster.

as good as a season they've been having, I don't think they'll be able to beat Munster in their own back yard

as for the other ties, highlighted in bold who I think'll win

Leinster v Clermont Auvergne
Biarritz v Ospreys
Toulouse v Stade Francais

as for the mega important Amlin Challenge Cup

come on the Wasps!

Connacht v Bourgoin
Toulon v Scarlets
Newcastle v Cardiff

also would be nice if Sale could beat Sarries tonight and Worcester beat the Exiles tomorrow

I don't want much

Leinster first team through to the HC semis with a one point victory over Clermont last night.
One of the quickest starts I've ever seen to a match in the Biarritz v Ospreys match. Only 3-0 to the French after an early drop goal but Ospreys have butchered three decent chances at tries already. Deliberate knock on in the 22 by Biarritz as I type and it should be 3-3.

Biarritz try as I type , they won the turnover scrum which the O's went for instead of the Penalty. Then their US winger Nguwenya skinned everyone to go from his 22 to the try line , much as he did to Bryan Habana in the world cup.
Although if the ref had laid down the law properly , the winger shouldn't have been on the pitch after that deliberate knock on. Where was the yellow card.
Conversion is good ,
10-0 , 13 mins

A 2nd Biarritz DG ,
16-7.
Scoreline starting to get away from the O's.
