OK, this weekend, my fixtures are

Glasgow v Ospreys
Rotherham v London Welsh.

Two aways and I'm really going to stick my neck out and say two wins.

Surely the Ospreys, with 7 Lions and 3 All Blacks in this weekends squad, should be able to turn over a fairly handy Glasgow outfit.

As long as Jonno disregards anything Holley and Humphreys thought up in terms of gameplan, then yes, the O's will thrash Glasgow. He was furious after Leinster.
I am with you, i don't even know why papers have to print such graphic pictures.

Having been through breaks, dislocations, and snaped knees I really don't need to see videos and pictures of them happening to others. They make me very sqeemish!

I have to say from a personal perspective, I was intending to play this year, I have played once, but after last season where I had a lot of injurys and concusions I have totaly lost my bottle. I never thought I would as I came back from a double leg break and knee reconstruction, but this year my bottle has gone, I am finding it really hard to cope with as it has been my life for so long.
How about refereeing Joe?

a review of the Lions 2009 tour dvd, looks like it will be a massive improvement on the last two (which can't be hard)

Good win for Leigh East in what could be there their last game at LSV , they have the backing of Sport England who helped fund the village but the council aren't budging and want to see a boarded up , vandalised club rather than see a club giving people of all ages the chance to play RL

For me this weekend. 2 WINS! Yes.

An easy win for Nottingham against Birmingham and Solihull, who are facing a winding up order this week. I hope they can stay in the league. A very narrow win for Bristol, so it looks like the title will be a bit more open this year, as many thought Bristol would run away with it.

BBC Rugby

is it just me or are the fate conspiring to stop Borthwick captaining England for the autumn internationals. He gets over his rib injury and now gets kicked in the head

I don't rate as England captain, but I hope his eye injury isn't too serious

BBC Rugby

Mathieu Bastareaud get a three-month suspension for lying about assault (commuted to rugby-related community service)

I suppose that's about right, anything more would have been a bit excessive imo

At last Union fans wake up to the fact that it's boring

Saracens chief executive Edward Griffiths has criticised fans who booed during Sunday's win over Gloucester.

Supporters jeered and slow handclapped during a lengthy passage of second-half kicking at Vicarage Road, a reaction Griffiths described as "astonishing".

Sunday's booing came during a spell of aerial ping-pong

It's probably more to do with Saracens actively searching out the wendyball supporter.
I sat behind some of them at the Middlesex Sevens a couple of years ago. Ignorant is putting it nicely.

Looking forward to Saints v Wasps this weekend, great start for the Saints but this will be a real tester of where we are.

Should be wins all the way for us apart from the Saracens disallowed try that was scored twice ffs!!!!

well I'm hoping you lose

I've been impressed with our start to the season, Hanks seems to have got the team playing again. I didn't expect us to beat Irish last week, but we did well to keep it close until their late try.

My weekend fixtures

London Welsh v Bedford.
Ospreys v Edinburgh.

Again, I'll stick my neck out and go for 2 out of 2 victories, although our home record against Bedford has been very poor of late. We owe them a spanking.

Semi final predictions from me for SL

Leeds to beat Catalans and Saints to defeat Wigan. Hardly going out on a limb with those though

I think you could be correct there. A Leeds v Saints final.
I'll Sky+ that as I'm in Swansea that weekend.

Storm to beat the Eels too. I'm not sure what sort of team the Eels are these days, but when I saw them back in 1998, they were a bunch of bash merchants. Lots of muscle, but little finesse.

I seem to remember an announcement about the NRL Grand Final being streamed for free on the web, is that still the case?

I hope we don't

London Irish are looking very strong this season.

Heineken Cup from Fri 8 Oct, always a cracking competition.

Early days but any predictions on group winners?

Wigan Vs Saints today. Can anyone tell me if this match is exclusive to Sky sports or is it available on another channel using a motorised dish? Thanks.
