Well he is certainly going to get tested in Toulon because the fans there are mental when it comes to loyalty. In the local bar the burnt out all the images of Victor Maitfield with cigarttes becasue they didnt feel he was loyal. The hostility to anyone not trying is scary! The most hostile place I have ever been as a rugby fan........

Oh except Cardiff in an England shirt after a win...

Again you are depending on third party sources like Lawrence and the Rugby Club television programme playing a single clip. In the Liberty Stadium I have seen him play in the flesh.

Henson threads can bore the pants of most fans. Would be nice to drop the subject now.

I would say that if Mr Dallaglio talks about rugby it makes sense to listen......

Agreed.

Enough about Henson (at least until Toulon cut him in a few weeks)

IRB International Young Player Of The Year.
Celtic League Champion.
Wales International.
British Lion.

That's not bad for a massively overhyped player.

But spoken of as if he's the second coming by many - including pundits who should know better.

Did you see his debut for Saracens?

He was mentioned every five minutes when he was on the bench.

And when on the field the ball would be nowhere near him (and going nowhere near him) but "Henson is lurking, ready to strike" according to the commentators.

Pardon - there are better players out there

well to be honest as someone who was at that game, he didn't see to do much when he came on

having said that, the match was dire so no one really stood out

He did nearly score with his first touch of the ball to be fair.

Was he mentioned as much as "Jonny Wilkinsons Toulon", or "the Mighty Andrew Sheridan"?

Excellent 5 live programme presented by Matt Dawson & Gareth Thomas coming from Pencoed rugby club last night. The panel included Brian Moore, Phil Vickeray and Gareth Edwards. There was great banter & person who surprised me most with his wit & observations on the game was Vickeray.

Phil Vickery always comes across as a really nice guy, intelligent too. I can see him doing well in coaching, or if not that the media.

Damn fine player as well.......

The key word being 'can'.

Youngs has great potential (I saw that when I
saw him play aged 17) and has certainly started rather well in European and International rugby.

Rather better than some I might add....... but won't.

I find it odd that people have to be compared to someone. I don't think you could find two more different styles than Edwards and Youngs.

Edwards was a once a centuray player in his position. Youngs has the potential to be as good as he wants to be. I will be honest with you the England scrum half situation is pretty healthy I think. I really like London Irish: Hodgson and think he would have been a great option for this game as he has a real fiesty edge about him which they will need tonight.

I imagine the Welsh game plan will be to stifle the English - Which is usually the other way around- and throw in a few cheap shots, particually around Hartly and at scrum time as much as they can. It's exactly how I would play against them if I had the chance. Watch for the Craig Mitchell working in on Hartly.

Wales 21 - 30 England - Can see the English overcoming their Cardiff hoodoo as much as I hate to say it

Italy 9 - 35 Ireland - Ireland to have too much for Italy

France 27 - 10 Scotland - Will be close as nobody knows which France will turn up on the day

That being said I do hope Wales win, but it is looking unlikely giving the current form

4th or lower this year and adios Gatland IMO

I think it would take a wooden spoon to get rid of WG before the world cup. Even then it's a doubt with the mahoosive pay out he'd get after signing a contract to take him up to 2015.

Agreed , Youngs reminds me more of Rob Howley than GE. Accept the England coaching staff have had the foresight to cap BY nice and early in his career. Howley was in his mid
20's before the Welsh selectors came to their senses. Had some very good games behind some atrocious packs and some great ones on the rare occasions our 1-8 turned up in the 1990's.

Howley was a really special player, I think he was so unlucky with timing of his career. Also his injurys with the Lions were heartbreaking. Such a quality player.

I have to say Mike Phillips for me played a game which must be 5-8 years ago now and I can't remember the opposisiton but I think it was France and he put in one of the best 9 performances I have ever seen. He seemed to do everything perfectly. All I remember about the game is him and his distribution and how big he was!

I think that was Phillips 6nations debut against France in 2006. He was excellent that game. One thing that concerns me is his speed of pass away from the breakdown and scrum. It's definitely got slower over the years. Not helped by the fact he often takes a step before shipping it on. Wish he'd concentrate a bit more on getting it to his 10 quickly. The best sides to his game is his ability to break the line like an extra flanker at times and getting under the skin of his opposite number. It'll be a powder keg with Youngs tonight , no doubt about it!!
Hope we all enjoy it

I really like the Friday and Saturday evening fixtures, makes the games feel much more of an event under floodlights. Sunday afternoons always feel really lethargic in comparison.
