I was being a little provocative about the scrum. France have had a superior scrum, but I expect England to front up. No doubt Rowntree has been working hard. Whether the ref lets a proper scrummaging we will see.
I just remember Yachvili kicking France to victory in 2005, I hope this will not be repeated.

Anybody else hear Matt Dawson on five live tonight
talking about Chris Ashton ,
'redefining the way wingers should play.... coming off the line and looking for the ball... probably the best in the world at the moment for doing this...'

He must've missed his own team mate Jason Robinson and the likes of Doug Howlett , Shane Williams and Tommy Bowe doing that for the last ten years then. Jesus wept , people accuse the media and public in Wales going OTT after a few good performances from players. Ashton is a very good player who's scored some very good tries as an international so far. Why must all the sports media in the UK throw about phrases like world class about players who haven't achieved prizes yet in their careers

I have got no predictions right this year, France game terrifies me, expectation is high but we have got excited on the back of 2 wins against poor opposition.

I think the reshuffling that the French have done plays into England hands.

Big start in Rome , Italy intercept try after Wales try and run it stupidly from the 22. In front now after the conversion is missed. Stephen Jones got an earlier penalty

Warburton ran the angle for his try like Chris Ashton did a fortnight ago. I wonder if the beeb pundits will tell us he's creating a revolution in openside support play

The Italians must be loving the way Mike Philips telegraphs them as to which way he is going to pass from the breakdown rucks.

Phillips is so slow, there is never quick ball where he's concerned, and he spends so much time looking around before he delivers the ball we all know where he is going to pass it. it's all far too pedestrian for international rugby.

I'm not a fan of his, he slows the game up far too much.

Despite the fact we're losing Byrne and Hook , I'd happily see the Ospreys offload him at the end of the season for a scrum half with quicker service.

Parisse finishes off a great move by Italy. Gone to TMO agains but it should be given

Looks like there's only going to be one winner now with Italy's momentum.

The old Welsh mental weakness under pressure is starting to show
Then they throw it back in my face as we take Italys attacking scrum v against the head

There is another daft rule in rugby .... being able to lift in the line-outs.

The way the players are suspended in the air by the forwards, it's a wonder why they don't just keep on carrying that player to the try line, as the opposition are not allowed to tackle until the player has landed on the ground! There must be another rule to stop that though!

In the old days it always used to be throw in, then a 'palm off' to the scrum half and they were on the attack ...... the line out is a shambles these days.

Gatland surely has to put fresh legs on now, if Wales have a chance of winning this.

Italy pen attempt is missed. They deserve to be in front on pressure and possession.
Still 16-21 though , 68mins.

WIn the ball , kick it back to them , repeat time after time etc etc. Italy lineout hasn't been too good so I don't know why we're not aiming for touch more.
