Cipriani has just been banned again by his club for bad breaching club conditions.

They both seem as bad as each other.

There's more to this than meets the eye I reckon.

Gatlands gone on record saying Wasps have been a bit dull, which is somewhat controversial from him. He's an ex Wasps coach and his current number 2 is also a current coach at Wasps.

A dramatic afternoon yesterday. At one point it looked as though Bath would secure the last play-off place after an extraordinary first half at Franklins Gardens in which Leeds came out fighting. But in the second half we dominated and ultimately sealed their relegation fate. Not to mention Gloucester's thumping win against Sale and Newcastle's rollercoaster of a day.

So, the semi-finals are now confirmed to be:

Leicester Tigers v Northampton Saints (Sat 3:15pm, Sky)
Saracens v Gloucester Rugby (Sun 2:30pm, ESPN)

I don't think this is different to the initial banning

plus he's been pretty poor with missed tackles, maybe Melbourne didn't think it was worth risking in S15 matches

next week's semi final matches look interesting

I reckon Sarries will just about get past Gloucester, who've been on a great run lately

I think Saints may fall short against Leicester, especially with half an eye on Heineken Cup match against Leinster

Did anyone watch the hybrid game yesterday being trialed in Auss?

They played league rules in possesion in your own half and then union rules when you cross half way into the attacking zone.

13 a side with 6 man scrums played to union rules.

Sounded crazy to me.

I see in the news that Joost van der Westhuizen has been struck down with motor neuron disease (hopefully one of the milder forms).

With him being a saffie and a scrum half (default setting 'annoying little t***) I found it hard to cheer for him (unless playing against Australia or Wales). Always gave a cheer when a big forward ran over him.

Good luck in dealing with this though (need a 'thumbs up' here).

Barking.

Where was this match shown?
Did they have 2 referees on the field?

Who sanctioned this match? My money's on Murdoch.

Leciester v Saracens again in the Premiership final.

Sarries out for revenge.

so no comment on Tuilagi's assualt on Ashton

fair play to Chris for not reacting, disgraceful that the touch judge actually thought he was equally to blame. How can throwing 3 punches be only worthy of a yellow card?

hope Manu enjoys watching the final from the stands

I always say, with experience of live watching/officiating other sports, you have to understand the official may not have the same view as you do. A different angle, and in this case the possibility of other players obscuring (or distracting from) can make something that looks obvious from one position much less clear.

It's possible that he thought Ashton had punched Tuilagi which caused a retaliation.

Tuilagi certainly won't be there next week - and likely not on an England tour which means he won't be in the RWC squad - although that was a quite long shot I thought.

Shame because it ruined an excellent game somewhat. The ferocity of the defence was notable and everything had to be arned.

I take Leicester to win the final - I just think, at full strength, they are a much better team, and used to big occasions.

What disgusted me about the whole incedent was Stuart Barnes attacks on the touch judge.

It's very easy to sit on your fat arse in the stands and look at replays to see what has gone on and actually make an on the spot decision when two players have their hands up. From ground level seeing punches connect is not all that easy.

This is true.

Barnes was over the top.

I feel the same when watching cricket and you get a run out. The batsman is running flat out and is 6 inches short of the crease "That's miles out" the likes of Botham will announce. At speed it's nothing. It's actually worse with bat/pad catches (especially down the leg side) or LBWs which are, or are not given on a 'big edge' or missing the bat 'by a long way'. You should note that the most lenient commentator on such things is David Lloyd - and, in rugby, it's now Brian Moore. Particularly with regard to the former there's a good reason.

What a game today!

I could hardly believe how badly Leinster were doing in the first half, but their comeback in the second half was absolutely beyond belief. Sexton was awesome!

Having seen the highlights it looks like Northampton's lack of depth through the season - and that brutal battle against Leicester last week - finally caught up with them.

There were signs of one or two players running on fumes before half time.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. This was particularly noticable during the Six Nations, when they lost 6 games in a row. Also, I think the limitations in the back line apart from the back 3 can be exposed by the top teams.

In the semi-final, their second half performance was also well below the first but the poor opposition was unable to capitalise.

I was speaking to a work colleague last week who is Irish by birth and educated in Wales.

He supports both at rugby - in fact anyone but England.

He suggested that "England would love to have Gavin Henson".

I suggested very much the opposite and speculated on the possibility pf England using Matt Banahan at 12 (not a bad idea - he's bigger, quicker and more skillful than the likes of Jamie Roberts) and running him down Henson's channel.

I suspected a change of underwear (and some hair gel) would be required.

Would this be the same player whose limitations at centre have been exposed against top-class opposition? Btw, Henson might be a poseur but he's well capable of looking after himself.

I think Banahan would need a lot of ball in that game to get to Henson as he usually seems to drop it.
