Will the real Gabriel Kent please stand up...(spolier)
Ok here go's......
Gabriel Kent is in fact the son of the family who adopted June's son. Gabriel was brought up with June's son but felt that Robert was given more love than he was. He is jealous of Robert and he thinks that if she hadnt had Robert then his own life would have been better. It is also revealed that Gabriels parents were killed in a car crash (as we heard) on the way to visit Robert. He blames June for all of this and wants revenge. June obviously wants Gabriel out of her life and vows to do whatever it takes to do that, however she will keep quiet about his secret if he gives her Roberts address. He does eventually give her Robert's address !!! |

He is a wee BAST**d. June should get him sorted. There would be plenty of willing volunteers ME, Tone, Jim. Pity he didnt fancy Madford or even Brandon. What a fitting end that would have been

Funny that as Digital Spy must consider it one too - seen as there is a soap spoilers section entitled The Bill - Oh and the BBC's soap phycic chats on about it too.
Would you like to define soap for me Garymonc ? |

I don't think we'll be seeing Garymonc again.
Anyway, I think a good doing is in order. Or maybe someone should tamper with the brakes on his motorbike. For the avoidance of doubt, is it Gabriel or Robert on the birth certificate of June's son? If Gabriel is pretending to be Robert, wouldn't he be calling himself Robert? If June's son is really called Gabriel, then pc Gabriel's real name is Robert. If he has not falsified his id then why would they think he was June's son? Can anyone spell it out in idiot English for me? Rudi

I was going to post something this morning regarding this but got myself somewhat muddled up.
This is where I got up to ! June's child is called Robert Akland - that may just be the name that was given to the child at birth by June. If June registered the birth (she mnust of for GG and Smithster to know off the certificate) she will have done in Roberts name. Since the child was adopted it is likely that, the childs name was changed. So in theory - Gabriel Kent could be June's child. As he had June's child's paperwork the assumption was jumped to - I assume !! Hope that makes sense - probably not ! |

I never used to take much notice of Todd Carty on EE, but now when I come across him on UK Gold episodes I feel compelled to turn over
.That mole under his bottom lip freaks me out big time . And his acting...hmmm, what's the word...woeful?The sooner he's summarily got rid of and Mark Wingett and Trudie Goodwin are allowed to make the most of their natural chemistry together once more, the better, s'what I say... (First post here BTW - *waves hello*) xx JG600 |

Now there is a man with taste!
I've always considered Todd Carty joing TB was more of a "look who we've got" thing by TPTB at TB, and they never really gave any real thought to the character or where the character may be going. I've never really been convinced by Todd Carty's performance at all. One-dimensional is as good a way as any of describing it. Unlike Mark Wingett (who, as you'll probably find out I hold in my esteem head and shoulders above most....no...all actors!) who *is* his character, and has even brought some of his own experiences to the role, and is not afraid of giving his all or baring his soul for the sake of the character. I can't comment on the "Tucker" years, I was a little bit too young at the time.... xx JG600 |

You're a welcome addition to the forum JG600. You're bang on about Todd Carty. He never could act, and only got away with it as a child actor because he was a cheeky chappy with looks to match. In EE he never, not once, appeared natural, let himself go, or seemed anything other than brooding and insular. Often his lines were at odds with his body language.
He simply had too little ability and too much celeb baggage to carry it off in The Bill. I'm sure other actors respect the fact that he has made such a career from so little raw materials, but also feel that he is depriving a good actor of a good job, and us of better drama. Matbe his next job will be a porter in Casualty. Rudi

Hello JG600.
All this banging on about Todd Carty's inability to act. Is it any wonder that he can't act - he's a primate, or perhaps the missing link....no in all seriousness - you are all right he does come accross as wooden and too rigid - he just about got away with selling fruit but anything beyond that in the acting spectrum he looked out of his depth. As for a job on the slab in Casualty - he would probably make a mess of that - although he does do wooden and rigid well ! |
