Got a Degen DE1103 (aka Kaito KA1103, similar to Eton E5) on order, who else has one?

So I've treated myself to a little portable receiver, the Degen DE1103, which I believe Eton got their design for the E5 from.

Here's some info on it: http://www.radiointel.com/review-degende1103.htm - though I believe the version reviewed there is a little out of date, the hardware's been updated a couple of times since.

Anyone messed with one before? What's it been like for you on the FM?

:)

I have just got an E5 today and it is pretty good for the money.

Performance is not brilliant and can hardly be considered as a proper SSB receiver but having said that it was possible to receive quite a few SSB stations quite well.

Using a large external aerial results in a lot of noise and spurious signals particularly on the 7 MHz amateur band.

Considering a more serious receiver from such as Icom would set you back £500 - £1000 ..for £90 it aint bad.

    FM performance seems reasonable.
