Missed ITV HD reservation, again!

Mighty p*ssed off now.

Just sat down to watch The Bill (HD) and guess what....not recorded. I checked the reservation when I turned the machine off in the afternoon and it was definitely there. It wouldn't be so back if it defaulted to an SD recording.

I have also noticed the reservation has also vanished for next week as well.

This is the second time this has happened!

Anyone else have the same problem.

I know its no help now but some people record the SD version as well just in case.

I had missed recordings and did a factory reset, that stopped the missed recordings but now I get major blockiness on HD channels while in 2x or 4x FF, weird.

Dammit, it missed a Spinal Tap program as I was writing this. The box is awake but never started recording.

I wish the box could give us a reason for failed recordings too.

I get that as well.....thought that was normal.

No, it was perfectly ok before I did the reset. I assumed BBC and ITV messing about with reduced bitrate was causing it.

Are the blocks big, like 2 or 3 cm on a 40" tv?

I've also noticed blockiness on BBC HD (haven't watched any ITV HD recently) and since I haven't made any changes assumed that it was due to a new codec. Fortunately this only seems to afffect fast forward, not normal playback.

Ok so its likely it was due to the encoder change rather than my factory reset then. It makes me feel a bit better that it wasnt my box.
