New Phone - Suggestions/Help

Hi, hoping people can help me come to a decision

I am currently an online pay monthly customer with O2, i am on the £30 a month tariff.

I have a Nokia8310 at the moment, but i will be entitled to an upgrade on the 28th of Feb.

The question is what phone should i upgrade to?

I have been looking at the:

Samsung P400
Samsung E700
Sony Ericsson z600 (which seems to have disappeared from the O2 site, i am sure it was there the other day)

Also looked at the Siemens SL55

I have been really happy with my nokia and i have had them for a number of years now, so if anyone can recommend another nokia i am welcome to suggestions.

Bluetooth comes in handy though. Its better to have it than not to have it. I thought id never use it but its great fun having it in the cinema and seeing what other ppl have bluetooth and sending them files n' stuff.
Oh man im sad i know .

Why?

Many other phones have bluetooth capability. I found the T610 tiny and very... er... well... square. The sound when making a call was a bit tinny and the screen was difficult to see outdoors or in a room with strong light.

I find the Nokia 6600 far superior and I would, if in the position of a potential upgrade, shell out the extra few quid to get a phone that's going to last. The highly customisable phone software coupled with the lovely screen, built-in speaker, tri-band capability and the ability to stick Multi-Media cards into it make it a phone to last.

If I were you I'd get myself into a local phone shop and pretend to be buying from them so you can get to handle the phones and see which one feels right for you.

I'm also guilty of 'bluejacking' but by far my worst crime has to have been going around all the mobile phone shops with an N-gage stand in a certain northern shopping centre and changing the background picture to a picture of a bum, that I had bluetoothed to the handset, then hiding the bit to change it in an obscure folder in a folder in a folder etc. There was a few gasps to be heard when people thought they'd be playing Lara Croft...

I love doing stuff like that - taking a picture of them playing it, then sending it to the Ngage, freaks them out big time

What exctly is bluejacking? I thought it was where companies send spam to your phone, or wait was it where you can change the settings of another persons phone?

LOL< brilliant. However, you should of brought a P900.

Regarding Bluetooth, Sony Ericsson are the only mobile manufacture that properly implements Bluetooth. The Z600 is different to the SET610 because they changed the type of screen so it does not suffer from the sunlight problems that can affect the best selling T610.

Okies I'm going to sound like a complete no-brainer here but what do you mean by "properly implements"?

My phone talks quite happily to my computer and printer via bluetooth as well as locating other devices, managing paired devices, and works fine with the Nokia and SE bluetooth earpieces.

What else does it need to do?

Many Nokias dont have all the full set of profiles so some headsets wont work with some phones etc.

SE Bluetooth allows you to access a phones file system like Windows explorer as well which enables you to copy and transfer files much easier.

Nokia's Bluetooth implimentation has improved but some models can still not send ring tones or pictures via BT.

by the way, the forum automatically blocks URL's such as techboards, and continually posting that is really irritating and against the DS T&C's
