Sim Updates and Orange Plus

Hi everyone,
Got a Nokia 3100 on Orange yesterday. Phoned orange to register, then dialled 450 and registered Text Saver, and registered a top-up swipe card through the Orange Plus menu on my phone. I got sent tons of text messages most of which said 'SIM Update' but I think I might have deleted some without reading them first - do these messages have to be read in order to update the sim, and if so, would it matter that some may not have been read? Also whenever I attempt to check my balance through the orange plus menu, it says 'Sending a message', then 'you will receive a text', but I never do, and still haven't 24hours later. Is anyone else experiencing this?

When you get a sim update you read it, delete and switch off/on your phone. If you cannot call, phone back Orange. For textsavers, if you text after 24hrs and get charged that probably means that textsaver has not been updated. As for text balance on Orange you can't. Not all functions work on the Nokia's.

Not reading the updates may have caused some services not to work although it is unlikely, but if a service such as MMS doesn't work then it may be down to the sim updates.

The Orange text balance option is a bit hit and miss, sometimes I get an immediate reply, sometimes it comes through days later and other times I get nothing at all.
