hi - i've downloaded the internet channel on the wii and surfing is fine, but when i try to play something on the iplayer i just get the adobe flash 'dots spinning in a circle' for ages until the iplayer shows the 'more like this' page after you should have viewed the video.

any ideas please? thanks

The problem is with the BBC. This version of the Internet channel features a better version of adobe flash than the previous version. I upgraded my Internet channel and it stopped working.

Iplayer wii is coded for flash 7. This new browser is Flash lite 3.1 which is equivalent to flash 9.

A whole new audience of prospective new iPlayer viewers out there.

I've told people about the free update to their Wii machines and told them about iplayer .. I hope the Beeb get it updated soon.

I've even bought a new keyboard for the Wii ...

I have been having the same problem and have been following the thread here on the bbc message boards

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbiplayer/F...893890&skip=40

The programmes that were added to iplayer yesterday (Saturday) seem to be working on mine - it the Big seven lottery thing etc.

I have the same problem too. Upgraded the Wii yesterday and iPlayer now buggered. Isn't there any Flash backwards compatibility?

Probably a silly question... but is it possible to install the older version of Nintendo's software so that iplayer at least works... if it is, where can i find it and how do i install it?

Not that I am aware of I am afraid....

I just went to the iplayer page on my wii and it now comes up with a screen that says "The iplayer isn't compatible with the latest version of the wii browser.....but don't worry, we're working on an all new BBC Iplayer for the wii, due out later this year...stay tuned for further updates....."

....so hopefully we should get a fix within the next 3.5 months!

So why don't Nintendo just give us the option to downgrade back to the earlier browser that the i player works with? They tell us to upgrade because of the new flash but fail to mention this kills the major reason for it.

We are currently investigating and hope to resolve the issues with the BBC iPlayer website. Later this year we will be launching all-new BBC iPlayer designed specifically for the Wii.
Just a guess, but I'm guessing the fix will come when the all new iplayer for the wii launches. Not long until the end of the year. I'm looking to get a wii for christmas, and accessing iplayer would be great. Not sure if the current wii bbc iplayer-when working-has the same video quality as the desktop version?

Big hurrah from me!

I never experienced it the first time round and hopefully having a dedicated channel will prove much worth while.

Roll on Wednesday

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but the BBC iPlayer won't work on my wii today. Anyone else experiencing problems? We've had it on there for a while without problems.

I don't think it's just on the Wii, I'm on my laptop and it looks like the whole BBC site is down.

The loading page comes up, the pink arrow turns around for a bit but then I get the message error 375003. Is this what other people are experiencing?

It's working ok on my computer btw.
