That has not been confirmed. The last I heard about the actor playing Des was that he had a number of personal problems. The could of course bring the character back with a different actor.

what rubbish the aussie soaps are.bourgeois and tediously middle-class-nothing like the real oz so my aussie friends assure me.

Although it was a very long time since we last saw Des, I don't think another actor would do. I must say, I do like it when they bring back old characters from years back.

I heard that the guy who played Des is a hermit. Lives alone in the middle of no where and has gone a bit mad. Not sure about the truth though!
