Sugababes- About A Girl
This will be the 2nd single from their upcoming 7th Studio Album "Sweet 7" It was first played on Radio 1's Chart Show today and it's even better than the version at a concert on Youtube. It is Red One produced, the producer behind some of Lady GaGa's #1 hits such as "Just Dance and "Pokerface".
Do you like it? |

Hopefully it will get to #1!
The Sugababes said they are filming the video in Los Angeles next week and that they have to learn stunts! |

Listening to it now. It's still fantastic, and maybe just a smidgen better than Get Sexy. When is it released? Anyone know?

It's not an instant hit but after a few more plays it will probably be one of my favourites lol. If it's released the same week as Leona it won't get anywhere as near as many first-week sales as "Happy".

i think it will prove more popular than Get Sexy, which in my opinion is way over the top and very hate-able for many people, despite the fact that it only just missed out on no.1.
this whole 'new direction' thing hasn't gone down well with many Sugababes fans thanks to Get Sexy, but About A Girl sounds fantastic to me, it's different to many of their hit singles, with RedOne's superb production, but most importantly it's a very strong pop song, which is what they do best. Get Sexy was a bold move, and although it has got to no.2, it has also alienated many fans by being so 'out there'. i'm a huge Sugababes fan and i hope About A Girl tops the charts and wins back the faith of many of their fans! |

Chris Moyles said today that Get Sexy was only 200 copies behind Run This Town.
Which is actually major as it shows the Sugababes were in reach of the number 1 spot. Those saying they have lost their way are wrong it would seem... |

I love this. Reminds me so much of Hole In The Head. I can see this one being massive just like About You Now was.
Looking forward to the album.

This song was originally pitched to Alexandra Burke, but she rejected it for a song which imo is a bit better than this. But the Sugababes sound good on this track. RedOne always delivers.

Common sense prevails in the mind of Ms Burke.

Its fantastic. Classic Sugababes. I think those slagging them off for changing styles don't even know the Sugababes. This sounds no different to the likes of Hole In The Head as already pointed out.
And this is far greater than Bad Boys. That sounds like Get Sexy. |

And this is far greater than Bad Boys. That sounds like Get Sexy. It's one thing changing styles (that's showing a diversity of a group) and another thing moudling into a generic pop creation to try and get a hit out of commercialising your music to a generic extent. This far greater than Bad Boys? I wouldn't call BB a brillant song, on par with good probably but at least it isn't a overtly generic creation were you can't make out the dictation and what the song is about. People are slagging them off for become followers instead of those standing out of the crowd. Not for changing styles. The babes haven't changed styles. That would be saying the new get sexy route their going down is good thing. It isn't. Bad Boys and Get Sexy are two records which different sounds. Get Sexy lacks much lyrical content while Bad Boys at least has decent lyrical content. Get Sexy is a r'n'b pop type record which is overtly commercial while Bad boys is a cross between r'n'b and a dance sound. Get Sexy doesn't contain much singing while Bad Boys is sung enterily by Alexandra apart from Flo Rida's part. Hole in the head was mix of two tracks to create one unique track (the name of the two tracks I can't remember) and it was a fast paced pop r'n'b song with edge. This? Can you classify it in any other caterorgy accept lyrical lacking generic pop? |
