Three of the most depressing books I've ever read, I'd add American Splendor and Barefoot Gen for the full miserable experience.

Agree with Zenith. Thankfully I've got that electronically in its entirety!
Surprised to see that no-one's mentioned Kingdom Come yet. |

Ronin
300 I despise Frank Miller btw... but some of his work is outstanding. Can I add the Showcase collection of Jonah Hex just because it brings back childhood memories ![]() Currently reading 'Goddess' by Garth Ennis...

Preacher was fantastic- your only disappointment will be when it finishes and you realise you won't see anything of that quality of writing again

Kingdom Come
Absolutely superb graphic novel, in an alternate DC world, where Superman has retired to his farm.... at the start. Art is by Alex Ross. |

Watchmen of course!
The Dark Knight Batman: Year 1 Marvels League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Superman: Reign of the Supermen - the final part of the Death of Superman trilogy - this is great fun and a big read too. Superman is supposedly dead and a bunch of other super powered characters come forward claiming to be the new Superman causing general confusion and mayhem! |
