That should only happen if an item you bought wasn't paid for or an item you sold wasn't delivered.

Obvious ones;

Preacher
Sandman
Batman Year One
Watchment
Amazing Spider-man (under JMS)

I also really enjoyed JMS' Midnight Nation.

They're saying the same as last time, that my account is linked to another currently suspended account.

Last time i had to fax them copies of photo ID and a bank statement as proof of address to get it sorted. They are asking the same this time and im refusing, ive done it once im not doing it again.

Fully prepared to take legal action if i have to.

A friend of mine had his account hacked last year. They put some sporting tickets up, sold them, hacked his paypal account and withdrew the funds, and changed all his passwords so that he couldn't get into either. For the people who bought them, the tickets never turned up.

My mate ended up on the phone for hours trying to sort it all out.

Agree with Zenith. Thankfully I've got that electronically in its entirety!
Me too, but I also have them in graphic novel form as well, still annoys me that book 1 of Phase 3 has 1 page back to front. Seen people trying to sell them for £70 on amazon.

I forgot about Kingdom come as well, it was quality indeed.

Superman Red Son is absolutely cracking, it's an excellent spin on what could've been if Superman had landed on Earth a few hours later (or is it earlier?), ending up in Russia rather than Kansas. Its portrayal of the MoS is very powerful, and really gets across the point that Superman should never interfere.

There's a brilliant twist at the end too, it doesn't fail to please!

I've just read volume one of Mark Waid's 'Iredeemable'. It's good stuff. I recommend it.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 1 & 2 (Haven't done 3 etc. yet): I freakin' love these, read 'em a few times now, soooo good, they tick so many boxes fr me.

Akira: If you've not read 'em do so, they really are as good as they say..... Nah better (big Otomo fan)

Domu: Another Otomo classic before Akira.

I've just mentioned these cause I don't think anyone else has, but of course many previously mention are great too. Must read more DC, I find the characters more interesting than Marvels.

In fact I must read lots more, this thread is great for gleaming some reading inspiration.

For the record, I really hate this term "graphic novel." If the publishing world wasn't so uptight and close-minded, we could just call them what they are - comic books. As an adult who reads comics, I find it a bit offensive how they've created a separate term for those comics that are marketed towards adults, as if these are the only comics with any real literary value.

Sorry to get off on a tangent....

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, I agree with much of what was written here, but I must say that I hated the Age of Apocalypse storyline when it came out.

One amazing series that I'm surprised wasn't mentioned yet is Alan Moore's From Hell. It's definitely a great read.

Agreed, read it a few months ago, held off for a while though, I think the artwork put me off a bit, I know it makes me seem like a philistine but the AW is what always what grabs me first. But I was totally wrong, the artwork when looked at as part of the whole is stunning, absolutely right for this work. The story totally convinced me, I know it's just one of the many conspiracy theories, but it's so well researched and written (more proof Moore really is genius) I bought right into it. Yep, good call GGC, totally forgot that one, dunno why, I'm looking at it right now on the shelf!!

As we're on Alan Moore, titan books collected all of Moore's Future shocks from 2000ad in one (dare I say it) graphic novel, really entertaining, bloody funny, soooo clever and very much ahead of it's time. I never read 2000ad as a kid, one of my many regrets in life, too into Beano and Whizzer & Chips et al!!

Never read any of those either. Can I get that here in America?

They are brilliant. I hope you can find them. The one about a life lived backwards show the makers of Benjamin Button how it should have been done.

I'm sure they could be shipped from somewhere, if they're not published there. You should really make the effort to seek them out, they're a real treasure.

Indeed- such a great concept really well done. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of Superman: True Brit which took Superman and made him British- which aside from a nice dig at Rupert Murdoch was rubbish

Frank Miller's Sin City collection - read them in release order, of course

And if you were a fan of Battle Royale The Movie you might like to check out Battle Royal The Comic Series - if you thought the movie was Graphic you ain't seen nothing :yikes:

Been a lifelong Hellblazer fan so i would say essential graphic novel collections of that series would be Original Sins, Dangerous Habits, Hard Time, All His Engines and Haunted which are all different perspectives of the Scouse magus John Constantine from a diverse range of comic book writers.

Also love the likes of The Walking Dead, which for me, is a consistently great series and a thrilling read.

You also can't go wrong with Alan Moore's body of work from Watchmen to Promethea, his Saga of The Swamp Thing is also superb and also features the first ever appearance of Mr. Constantine too
