Before we get invaded and battle commences, I thought it would be worth reliving some of the golden forum moments from the past
1. Forumites are the weekly panel – can’t remember who was on it now it was so long ago but 4 people from here were given a national platform and a few plates of crisps to give the nation their verdict and bloody marvellous it was too
2. The day strictly died – sergeant resigns, forum goes into hysterical meltdown, sparkly tinhats abounded - oooh it were grand
3. the gates – kellygate, muppetgate, kategate, gardengate (alright made that up) a bunfight a day sometimes
4. strictly bridget jones – some of those are pant wettingly funny
5. forumties stroke Craig – 2 forumites compete against celebs for tickets and get to fondle craig blinfolded

For some reason Microphonegate never really caught on as a catchy title.

Don't forget Gussetgate!

Kittles,

I loved the Friday panel when it was 4 forumites.

I am sure one of them was Quizmike, and I think another was Nina (haven't seen her posting for ages), and I can't remember the other 2, maybe someone else can.

I think one of the Friday panel was Peach and the other one was Lady something or Star something. (Sorry, memory on the blink! )

And if you're talking of classic forum moments you have to include the night of panda watch.

Brain might be working after all.
Though I must aplogise for not writing PeachUK.
The 'star' I'm thinking of was Startwizzler (one word? two words?) I've tried going back in the forums but it seems that Star is no longer an FM so I get zero when I search for the username. Still looking through the threads to see if I can find the name though.
I've just found a thread where there is great excitement as we've just discovered that Claudia is using quotes by on the SCD DS forum on ITT. That was in series three.

My fondest forum memory of last year is 'what do you think Brendan and Lisa's showdance actually portrayed?'

Startwirler?

Thank you fancynancy. Startwirler is was - though startwirler3 to be absolutely precise. And I was right about a 'Lady' being there too - Lady Boz.
I've now managed to find some of the threads associated with the group's night of fame. I think the first one is more about the reactions of other FMs.

Though I now have the feeling that the 'panel' thing was shown on a Monday. Or has the brain gone on strike again?
There were probably two 'events' and I'm sucessfully managing to confuse the two.

Nellie, as soon as I read this thread, I thought of Panda Watch!!! LOLOLOL

I cannot believe that grown peple sat at their keyboards half the night watching SLEEPING Pandas while waiting for our mole to give us the info as to who had been lobbed off the show.

I know that Force Ten was on the panel one year

There was a forum panel two years running. The first one consisted of Startwirler (who is still a member and posts regularly), PeachUK, the Lady Boz and I can't remember the fourth one. The second panel consisted of myself, Quizmike, *nina* and someone else who doesn't post anymore I don't think.

The first year it was done in someone's house but the second year we had to go into TV Centre and were filmed there.

After that the BBC started up their own messageboard so they didn't come to DS for a forum panel anymore.

Edit: Fourth person on the first panel was strictlyaddict and I have a feeling it was filmed in her house.

Sadly she doesn't appear to have posted since December 2005. I hope she's okay.

The good old days.

First one series3, second, series4. We were all so excited having our own representatives on ITT and seeing some of our quotes. Now we are spurned....jilted...they don't write, they don't want to know us any more.

I'm in a reckless mood and I might regret this but who among us on here remembers the bed, wed, dead thread.

I only joined around the final last series but I did find the threads (well there was only one that is still refered to now ) about Lisa and Brendan's showdance rather amusing . Especially the video that they made to compile all their quotes together .

Hopefully we'll have such an epic moment again this year...

I remember Carol Smillie mentioning Bar Cutler and a couple of forumites in her exit interview (Gritty and Cat123).

4th member of the series four peoples panel was Katie. Can't remember her username unfortunately. Special mention goes to the Scottish lady who came along to be a standby and kept us all happy during filming breaks (I apologise for not remembering your name )

After we had finished being filmed watching the main show we had to do lots of pick ups and stuff (including Nina having to fall on me about 100 times ). Then, when we were told we could go, we all turned around and said "What about the results show?" which was still on the same day back then.

The wonderful researcher Lisa led us through the bowels of TV Centre and blagged us into the viewing gallery above the studio just in time to catch the end of the Emma vs Louisa pointless danceoff. As Lousia was my favourite I left the studios particularly gutted.

Happy times though. Was an honour to represent the forum.

I can't remember her forum name either Mike. I remember she didn't want anyone to know she was appearing which seemed a bit odd since everyone would be watching on the Monday it was shown. She's another one who doesn't seem to post anymore.

I remember the mics weren't working properly to start off with so we had to do the first half all over again!
