Anyway using that logic if he doesnt expect Alex to sell much, it would make more sense for him to release her album nearer to christmas so she could get extra sales over the xmas period.”

I didn't say he didn't expect Alex to sell well , but Simon clearly realises that Leona already has the base to sell a lot of albums and by putting it near Xmas those sales can be maximised. Plus it would help his case that the X factor can make stars as then Leona could definetely have two big selling albums rather than just one.

People will still most likely buy it as a Xmas present in November than in October.

Susan Boyle is the one with the 'Christmas release'. Simon has already been on the tv boasting about how 'stunning' she sounds on record and how she is going to sell millions this year.

She's getting one of the Christmas releases , last year Leona released earlier than November yet I'm guessing a fair few of her albums were bought as presents. It doesn't have to be released in the same week to be a Christmas release.

Mark my words, Susan Boyle's album will sell more than Leona, Alex and Robbie combined world wide, and all eyes will be on her. No-one else will get a look in.
