I have 3 or 4 months left on an 18 month contract with Vodafone, that I got through P4U. Is there any point in me going into P4U and seeing if they'll upgrade my handset, without me having to lay out any cash? I thought maybe if I agreed to take on another 18 month contract though P4U that would be enough incentive for them to upgrade me. As you can probably tell by now I have no idea how these things work.

I'm the kind of person who'd get bullied into agreeing to take on 2 phones at £50 a month before I knew what was happening so just wondering how good my chances are before giving it a go...

Cheers guys

Yes, you can normally upgrade 3 months early on Vodafone, but you will extend your next contract by 3 months I believe. Go and see them and see what they say.

Thanks, will try and go tomorrow before Uni methinks. Really want a Hero, but I don't think they'll do one on Vodafone so might have to go to L'Orange.

Next hurdle- put up with boyfriend taking the piss out of me for getting a Hero.

My mate said he couldn't have a phone called a 'hero' the name does seem to be off-putting to some. However it was the phone I recommended to him as it's one of the best out there at the moment. I'm very impressed with HTC I'm sure it'll be a good handset.

Hi Nicol(in)a,

Should you still be undecided I believe that The Carphone Warehouse are offering the HTC Hero on the Vodafone network.

Alternatively, have you considered upgrading to the HTC Magic?

As Thine Wonk says our customers are able to upgrade in store as early as having ninety days of less remaining on their existing commitments. In the event that you'd prefer to do this either over the phone or online through our upgrade tool here then you'd need to have seventy days of less remaining.

If you'd like some further assistance with this just send us an email with your details using the 'Contact us' form on website here.

When sending the email could you include a link to this thread within the body of it and state the code WRT135 in the subject line to make sure it comes through to us?

Thanks,

Lee

I did the negotiating for my wife over the phone with o2. She saw the phone she wanted, phoned them up and said she wanted me to speak to them on her behalf. Eventually had to go through retentions but she got the phone and a plan that she liked.

Mobilephonesdirect will allow you to connect a hero to VF, and i believe fonehouse will as well.

just bear in mind VF do not support the hero so will not be able to help you with technical issues on the handset.

VF do have the Tattoo coming soon though.

I thought that Vodafone had stopped doing business with the CPW (as far as contract phones go) a few years back?

We?

Well, things must be bad if Vodafone have put faith back into the CPW.
