Are they usually slow at dispatching cds? I thought i'd try ordering from them for the first time on Tuesday morning, the current order status still says "awaiting to dispatch" but they didnt hesitate to charge my card

Im not used to it being this slow as if i had ordered something from play.com it would have either been dispatched the same day or at the latest by wednesday afternoon. And they wouldnt have charged my card until they had sent it.

How long would you guys estimate before the ce even leaves the warehouse?

I've ordered hundreds of CDs from them in the past, and all were sent very very quickly. However after this whole BPI debacle, things seem to be taking a lot longer. I don't know if it is becuase they are having problems sourcing some product from the EU or becuase the whole situation generated so much extra business for them....or of course a combination of the two.

One thing I do know, despite beging a very loyal and huge advocate of CDWow for a couple of years, I'll have no trouble switching to alternative suppliers if they do not get things back on track soon (which I am sure they will by the way).

I did send an email to them, which to be fair they answered extremely quickly giving me an estimated delivery date - which is tomorow, so we will see.

It's also worth noting that it is not actually them that charge your card, it's all done via WorldPay, so i guess there would be no way to handle only charging you when the item is dispatched.

They have been very slow lately and yes I agree it's annoying when they charge you card before you receive the goods, but as andygrif says it's all done by world pay and not CD wow.

I ended up asking for a refund for something I ordered and got it from play.com instead, they seem to be much more reliable than CDwow.

Also I suggested to CD wow that they might like to tell their customers before they order whether the item is in stock or not.
Currently they do not tell you soehitng is out of stock until they have your money.

They do say that deliveries are 5-7 days, so if you order on a Tuesday, they'll most likely post it on a Friday to get it to you for Monday/Tuesday.

They do have thousands of orders i'd imagine, so they can't do it instantly.

Hi

The cds I have ordered have been shipped from Hong Kong and one GBA game from Belgium.

The first cd came within 3 days.

The GBA took about 2 weeks.

The last cd took about 3 weeks.

I don't mind using them for the cheapest prices but not for the quickest deliveries.

I think it is a little harsh to just say don't use them anymore. There must be a reason that they are experiencing delays, and hopefully they are adressing them pretty quickly.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on this thread actually to see if all returns to normal.

Been trying to get to their site today (http://www.cd-wow.com/ ) but all I get is a blank screen!

I managed to get in another wat BUT there are no graphics.

Anybody else having problems, is it my ISP or is this the end of CD-WOW???

Re order question at the start of this thread - I've never had to wait too long usually only 3 days (all the way from Hong Kong ain't bad). Although I have had to wait longer (and even had orders cancelled) for some items from the Bargain Basement.

I think it is just your ISP. Working fine for me.
