In case anyone is interested, the BBC are showing the film 'Take the Lead' with Antonio Banderas and one of our new pro ladies in it.

It is on this coming Saturday night at about 9pm.

Hi Tangos - have you seen it? Is it worth a watch?

"Consensus: Banderas is charismatic in the lead, and the dance sequences are captivating, but the story is too familiar and predictable."

Check out:

I think it "depends what else is on!"

Haha JJ!

Hi Saz, no I haven't seen it, but I will on Saturday, if only to get a look at the new pro! Can't be worse than Strictly Ballroom, hopefully!

Ah, no - Strictly Ballroom is brilliant - if only for the wonderful Pat Thompson (Shirley) who died before the premier!

Strictly Ballroom is the best! Paul Mercurio was a God in that. I couldn't believe how much he had changed when I saw him as a judge on DWTS in Australia and New Zealand.

Wow.

It was amazing to watch without sound - once I can figure out why I can't un-mute my lappie I will watch it with sound!

Just looked up a picture of him and thought exactly the same thing. I wouldn't have known it was him if I hadn't been told.

So Paul Mercurio has got a bit chubby, which of us hasn't over the last 17 years?! Besides, he has moved into the world of food & cookery, and unfortunately it comes with the territory for lots of us (I'm a pastry chef, so know only too well!). Never trust a skinny chef/cook !

Take the Lead is fab, I have it on DVD.

Strictly Ballroom is one of my favourite films and still watch it of it is on - I even love the end when 'Love is in the Air' by John Paul Young is on!

'Take the Lead' gets 6.6/10 on imdb here, which means I'll watch it!

Thanks Tangos!

Cheers Buddy, I was a bit rubbish on the details!

Don't know if you have seen the new Radio Times, it has a lovely pull-out Strictly front cover!

I spotted that in Asda the other day but didn't get a chance to have a good mooch at it.

1 week to go! Yay!

Sadly I bought the RT just for the SCD cover and article!

I normally use DigiGuide and the online RT to keep tabs on SCD, so I stopped buying a while back to save some money (I really only liked the letters page), but I do miss it! Thank goodness for the helpful people on here and Greytop's thread!

That's all I got it for too! The cover has been extensively oggled!

All that rubbish about the secrecy though, we had heard the names of about half of the final line-up before it was announced, so it didn't do much good!

They did very well at keeping the complete final line-up under wraps until right near the end and no tabloid blew it for them this year!

The first VT clip that showed teasing snippets of the outfits and code names made for a good game and lots of laughs trying to piece it altogether!

And I was right that 'tree' was Jo Wood and not Fern Britton (great storty in the RT about Jo Wood and the cab driver getting confused about a 'mystery' passenger and a 'Miss Tree!
