BlackBerry unlocking - would this work?
Hi everyone,
So T-Mobile still have the offer on the £179 BlackBerry Pearl 8110 which includes a sim card with a year of unlimited internet and email.. what I'm wondering is if I would be able to remove the sim card, with its free year of email and internet, and put it into a superior BlackBerry model (which was once on O2 Pay Monthly). So I guess the question is if it's possible to unlock BlackBerries like phones, and if all the services (email, internet and phone/text) will still work if you move the SIMs around - or do they have more complex ways of tying handsets to certain operators? Thanks |

It is possible to unlock Blackberries. I bought an unlock code for a Pearl on Ebay. The sellers instructions didn't work but a quick Google and I got the correct way to do it. At the end of the day I would have been down £7.50 and could have left negative feedback. It works on all networks as an ordinary phone, not sure how it does with a Blackberry tariff. Perhaps someone else could help with that one.
