I know this should be in Mobile forum but I'll probabaly get more replys here.

So, I just topup £10, and from the next month, I begin to get free texts for life?

I asked in the shop, thats what the guy said, but he said you have to have some credit in your phone to send a text. And now the woman online is saying that I have to topup every month??

It sounds far too good to be true. To offer a comparison, i topped up £10 on my 3 phone and i have 300 free texts which i can use in the next 3 months.

What would you do with free texts for life?

We don't think it should cost you the earth to have fun. That's why with our pay as you go offers/SIM, you can enjoy FREE unlimited texts forever. Simply top up £10, and the following month you can start texting without spending a penny of your hard-earned cash. So top up £10 each month to get FREE texts for life! Just think about all the things you could do…

The legal stuff you need to know

Connect a new Mates Rates SIM card that you've got (either with or without a phone) from one of our stores, telesales team or website to T-Mobile pay as you go from 1 September to 31 October 2009 and you'll automatically be opted into our Monthly Text Reward.

Successfully top-up £10 in a calendar month and we'll give you unlimited free texts to use during the next month. We'll send you a text to let you know you've earned the reward.

Providing you have stayed a member of the reward throughout the month we'll add your free texts to your account at one minute in the morning on the first day of the next month. You then have that whole month to use them in the UK. Use your free texts to text customers of any UK mobile network.

We'd like to remind you that your terms and conditions also say that you mustn't use our services to do anything unlawful or to send nuisance communications. At the moment, we'll decide that you're breaking this condition if you text more than 200 different numbers over the course of the month with your reward. Remember, we're free to decide that other types of use may also be breaking this condition. If you do break this condition, we'll disconnect your SIM card from our network without giving you any advance warning.

We're afraid that you can only be part of one of our top-up reward offers at any time, so you won't get Little Extras when you join with this offer. If you try to opt in to another top-up reward or buy one of our 30 day Boosters, then you'll have to opt-out of this reward first. If you opt in to another reward prior to making your first top up, you won't get this reward. And if you move price plans to our Text Appeal plan you'll lose this reward. You can opt out of this reward at any time by texting STOP TEXTWEB to 441. Once you've opted out of this reward then you won't be able to opt back in again.

Oh the Irony!

Free texts for life will be coming to a end soon.

T Mobile and Orange are merging.

Hence no more T mobile!

You will have to hope the new mega company offer something similar!

I bought a phone a little while back in ASDA for £10 and it's locked to Orange. It's an Alcatel but not worth paying £10 to unlock.

I have another mobile with a Virgin SIM in it which is run on the T Mobile network.

Once they merge will my Virgin/T Mobile SIM work in the Orange mobile from ASDA ?

02 already give me free texts when I top up £10. Not sure the exact figure but its more than enough for me and I get the extra perks like "rewards" (usually free minutes but can be prizes etc), 1mb of GPRS, a % of topups back as credit, and the option of significantly reduced home broadband

I'd never buy anything off T-Mobile since they came up with that godawful advertising campaign.

You have to top up £10 each month to keep the free texts going. They were offering this in 2006/7 then suddenly pulled the plug (even going as far as taking it off those who already had it)

It still bugs me that OFCOM and the ASA allow the use of 'Unlimited' and 'For life' in advertising when companies are in fact offering nothing of the sort.

I agree like when advertising internet services unlimited downloads (fair rules policy applies).

So it's not unlimited it's actually limited.
