Innocence Project

I just wondered if anyone has successfully recorded any of the Innocence Project on BBC HD? Mine has failed all all 3 episodes up to now.

Once again the BBC have broadcast only half the required metadata. The series CRID data has been transmitted but there is no programme CRID to support it..

Thanks, I'll try a weekly repeat and hope that works.

Not tried recording that but both episodes of Lillies have failed for me (not even a 0 minute failed recording message)

Also had several ITV HD recordings just not happen (one of recent Midsomer murders and a couple of other programmes) - I did a factory reset and it seems a little better now, though last weekend Lewis failed (in that case got a recording failed, unknown reason)

Assuming these failures are all due to bad metadata, is there nothing Humax can do to ignore data that 'looks wrong' and use the basic EPG data instead? (I'm guessing that might mean it recording the wrong thing sometimes eg if a schedule changes, but I'd rather it recorded a few things I don't want than miss out ones I do....)

Bob_Cat from Humax posted on here a few days ago that they had input more of these recording scenarios, and expect that the new firmware will attempt to deal with them, but the downside is that the box may ask you for more confirmations than it did in the past. (I think that was what he was saying).

Edit : Found it, here is the link to his post.

Rgds.

Do you know how the CRID data (or rather lack of) causes these failures?

I assumed that it was to do with series linking, so incorrect CRID would mean the first episode records but subsequent ones fail?

I must be wrong in that though, as the first failed, but the 2nd showed it was scheduled (record flag in EPG) but again silently failed.

In which case is it the AR flags that are wrong? But in that case (missing meta-data for accurate start/end times) I'd have thought the PVR would just use the EPG data

I'd have thought that for a recording to just not happen the meta-data would have to signal that the program was no longer being broadcast - and presumably the broadcasters aren't that disorganised?

Ah, thanks. Pity the Humax couldn't have tried to record the SD stream instead, but I guess it's really ITV's thought for broadcasting the HD flag in the EPG.

Anyone know if it causes any problems to set both SD and HD streams off ITV to record - might try that for next Lewis in case they pull the same trick....

You could set it to record the SD version from another ITV region, that should do it.
