Disk is 99% full, and all I want to do is delete some files and I can't - all delete options are greyed out, any ideas?

Was the hdr recording when you tried ?. On firmware above v01 you can't delete while recording. If that's not the reason can you transfer to usb (which has a delete option)
I'm on f/w .02 (.03 is on the site now but no file!), no recordings, no move or copy options either!

Apologies, my FW is .03 - didn't see that happen!
Does a factory reset delete recorded progs? GF will kill me if the Corries are gone when she gets home tonight - been away for three weeks!

I believe there can be problems when the disc get almost full. I'm sure someone reported before that at over 96% you can experience problems.
I'd certainly expect move to be greyed out as there probably wouldn't be enough freespace to allow it, same with copy but delete should have been available.
Glad you got it sorted but the moral of the story is don't let it get so full (or buy a larger drive).

I had this problem with a brand new box - less than 2% full.
Someone suggested a hard reset, but I found that the 'dish' symbol in the menu was also disabled.
I powered off at the wall and got the delete option back (and the ability to hard reset, though I don't need it now).

THe box wasn't recording at the time by any chance was it?
Now you mention it, I think it may have been. Not the programme I was trying to delete - it was a film I'd scheduled more or less to try the system out, and when I started to watch it it said [something like] recording failed, and stopped halfway through.
It seems a bit odd that you can't delete one programme while you're watching another; do you get a warning that there won't be room when the disk is almost full?
We've just migrated from Sky+ and we're really pleased with the FoxSat, but one thing I miss is that the Sky+ has a great big red light that shows up while it's recording. Deleting programmes is more complicated on the FoxSat, though that's often an advantage - you don't press the wrong button and remove Someone's Favourite Programme by mistake!

Very late on a bug was discovered that under some circumstances allowing deletion while recording could corrupt the disc file system. As a result a quick fix (v02) was OTA'd to disable deleting while recording. Hopefully v04 firmware will fix this one.

Thanks for that. When you've got a new piece of kit there's always the slight worry that there's something wrong with it, so it's nice to know it's performing to spec.
Thanks for the advice also. I too this week have a new Humax Freesat HDR and also noticed I was unable to delete whilst a recording was active.
