I can't really figure out the Callum - Paul relationship at all. Certainly there is a biological connection between the two, but that's about it. They are complete strangers.....it's not the same thing as a birth mother being reunited with her child in my book. Paul merely inseminated a woman during a one night stand, and it seems bizarre that the product of this has moved in with him (and is causing havoc in the process).”

And not a phone call made to anyone to enquire about Callum? No history whatsoever. Its a bit farfetched imo.

Didn't Callum say something initially about the woman (his mother) contacting Paul when she was pregnant and that he didn't want to know? It strikes me as bizarre and very unconventional that he would seek to move the product of a drunken one night stand into the family home at the age of 18 having only just met him (and even more odd seeing as the same person is disruptive, has a criminal background and is openly hostile towards Paul and Niamh).

Don't like these "skulking around someone's house" storylines. They always get caught.
More wayward youths...enough already.

Fairly boring "Fair City".

The owner of the house doesn't look too pleasant, can't wait to see what happens.

Guess the accent: Ama's boss.
Go!

Seriously, is he an Irish person trying to put on an English accent and failing, slipping into an American accent every few words, or is he Australian trying to do Irish? I'm confused.

Why didn't Ama just run out the front door when he was in the kitchen?

It was odd alright. Thought English at first but, then why?

Because someone in RTE thinks that all English people are pervert creeps? lol! Either that or Ireland doesn't have scummy men like that I'd like to point them in the direction of Mr Tommy Dillion.

He is creepy though...not sure he was threatening enough to warrant Ama packing up and going with him. But, she may not know her rights or the law so believes him.

Yeah he's very creepy... I wouldn't have gone with him at all. I'd have walked out when he was in the kitchen and gone to the Hungry Pig & phoned Damien from there.

I'm the first to admit I'm not fan of Callum but, jeez Niamh cut the guy a break. I thought he seemed quite pleased he had Ruth...except for that wobble with Caoimhe. Fortunately, she begged off.

Perhaps Wayne and Delores have broken through the wall and can start mending their relationship. Granted he is a so greedy it cost dearly but, still, he didn't intend for it to be this way.

Poor Ama...nasty people.

I agree with you, Niamh totally over-reacted tonight, ok she was worried about Ruth, which is fine, got home safe, but to take the head off Callum after was just wrong. He tried.

What a nasty family Ama is with!! Its all going to happen very quickly though, Damien is on to it, but we have to wait until Tuesday

Tuesday? Really? Damn.

If I was Ama, I'd have pushed the bed against the door. Screw that: if I'm locked in and that creepy pervert is the only one with the key, I'd prefer knowing he can't get in while I'm asleep! Also, can't stand how McGreggor says "Ama". It sounds like he's calling her Emma.

Very realistic reaction from Delores, I have to say. She doesn't hate Wayne, but she's still bloody angry at him. I hope this is the start of them repairing their relationship, like you said SparkleBee, but I want it to be slightly different between them. They were always so close but not in an adult mother/son way. It would be nice for the dynamic to shift a little and they see each other as adults instead of just mother and child.

I'm not explaining that well.

Yeah, there's no ep on Sunday. I've noticed they've started to cut episodes here and there. I'm not complaining because since they started, the quality has gone up.

Must be budget cuts at RTE.

There was something about this on the Fair City website recently

Quote:
“To manage the current financial situation we agreed to reduce the number of episodes of Fair City from 208 to 200 in 2013. It was agreed that these missing episodes would be removed from the schedule when it would impact on the fewest number of viewers.

Based on the experience of previous years we know low performing episodes either land on bank holiday Sundays or when there are big sporting and entertainment events like international soccer, Eurovision and Rose of Tralee.

The list of dates when Fair City won't air are 26th March, 5th May , 14th May , 2nd June , 4th August , 20th August , 15th October , 27th October , otherwise Fair City will play as normal.

We apologise for the disruption and as always we thank our fans for their continued support.”

Thanks for the info, Cuishla! I'm not complaining: like I said, the quality has gone up a bit since they started cutting episodes. The English soaps should take notice!

Can do, SparkleBee!
I'm really starting to enjoy Leo/Carol. Mind you, Carol works well with almost any character. And Ama's story is still entertaining me. That family just get worse and worse!

The Ama story is brilliant. Loving Carol and Yvonne, oh that bitch needs her comeuppance, looking forward to a big showsown and Carol coming out on top

Something very interesting is going to fall into Yvonne's lap about Farrell!

Nooooo! Yvonne is great, but just once I'd like her to lose

Good ep tonight. It's nice to see a few new friendships forming, like Laura, Meave and Orla. They're good as a little group, but I'm not convinced about the "party". Looked a bit dull. Also, not convinced Sean could kiss so well any woman would drop her knickers...

I would nearly guess that Sean's character is gay, rather than a womaniser. Still, both he and Callum appear to have the capacity to pull older women

Must say I'm really enjoying the Ama storyline. It's great to see new characters on the show and the whole thing appears to be filmed in a genuine posh house
