It's not just you.

As much as I love Yvonne and Carol, they along with Farrell seem to be having the same conversation four times in every episode and with Tommy returning this weekend we're probably going to have the same old stuff with the Dillons again. Orla needs a break as well,

What was Dermot playing at as well, divulging personal financial information about Leo to Paul.
Yeah, it looks like it's all back on the merrygoround again with the Dillons.
Spoiler

There was a great interview with her in the RTE times this week, where she said that at Judy's age, she's just delighted she has two men fighting over her, and maybe part of it is she wants to keep it going in order to feel desirable. That means it might be going on for a little bit longer than I liked.

Dermot giving out information was the most unbelievable part of the ep: that's completely out of Dermot's character. Even if he wasn't quite a self-important little man he still wouldn't give out client's details, even if he had known everyone for years.

As for Carol and Yvonne, I think Carol loses
Spoiler

That's really the only story I'm interested in at the minute, but as you say Cuishla, it's the same conversation four times an episode.

I was gone for nearly two weeks and recorded all the episodes but after reading the synopsis on DS spoiler page I just deleted them all. They sounded dull as dishwater.

Nothing going on at the moment that intrigues me. They were on a roll there for a while...hope they find their pace again soon.

Would Yvonne really have that much control over Farrell? Yes, the drug is illegal but if he sought help what would really happen to him? This would be far more interesting if Louie were there in person.

Caoimhe being snarky, Tommy threatening Luke and Judy totally unaware...nothing new there.

Is it just me, or is FC becoming a bit tedious?
Not just you...it is. Hoping things pick up...would love for Charlotte to be pregnant by Callum. Where is Callum anyway?

She wouldn't have that much control over Farrell, but as long as Carol doesn't know about his addiction, they kind of do, simply because if Louis goes for custody they can bring up the fact that Carol's live-in partner is a junkie. And if she's living with him 24/7, the Court would never believe that she didn't know, but that her ex and his friends did. She'd lose Jack (in soapland).

I don't blame you for deleting them, SparkleBee. And I have no idea where Callum is. They seem to be doing a Hollyoaks and telling the stories in huge blocks. One month with one set of characters, and the others disappear off-screen, and then the next month with another set, and the rest are gone for a while.

Does anyone else think Judith is going a bit too far in "being there" for Tommy?

I'm not convinced by the Yvonne blackmailing Farrell storyline. He's a high flying barrister with numerous criminal contacts and I'm sure he could devise ways to put a stop to her threats. The idea that he would be recoiling in terror from her and acceeding to her every ridiculous demand doesn't add up. What would be to stop him from playing dirty and taking her on at her own game? She's already threatening to destroy his whole career and his relationship with Carol and he'd probably be quite justified in threatening her with violence if she refused to back off.

Probably, but soaps never do the normal option. To be honest, if I was Farrell, as soon as Yvonne started on Carol losing Jack, I would have taken Carol home, explained the situation and how she could lose Jack, and then broke up with her.

Yes, or admit to Carol when Yvonne began her threats that he was a drug addict and that he needed her help to get better and tell her that Yvonne was blackmailing him. If Carol wasn't okay with him being a junkie or prepared to help him, that would be fair enough, and he'd still have Yvonne off his back.

Luke is so unbelievable in the way he says his lines...they sound like desperation rathen then confidence. Feeble...that's the word I'm looking for!

Judith's gotten worse as well. She's terrible in her scenes with him, and it's only the two playing Caoimhe and Neassa that make the rest of it bearable for me.

@Eurostar, either way, you'd move out straight away, to make sure they couldn't use the old 'unstable/unsuitable environment' in a real custody hearing, trickery and blackmail aside! As a solicitor, Farrell should know that much

Not even Carol and Yvonne are making up for this crap. And it's probably leading to an offscreen exit for Louis.

Though it does sound like Farrell is going to blackmail Yvonne into silence depending on what his private eye finds. I'm intrigued as to what she'll discover.....Yvonne already has loads of skeletons in her cupboard, or out of the cupboard at this stage

I think that's the problem: anything the PI finds out, Yvonne has already proudly admitted to. That's one thing about Yvonne: she's a schemer, but one way or the other it always comes out and she always stands by her actions. I doubt there's anything left to find, so Farrell might be scuppered before he even begins.

I hardly think the stunt Farrell pulled leaving Jack in apartment will make Carol look like an unfit mother. It wasn't her fault at all. I can't imagine anyone would think so either.

It's very possible the private eye will discover something brand new though. She seems to be a bit dodgy, like Farrell, and may be prepared to play dirty to get info on Yvonne (or even frame her for something she hasn't done).

Was the fact that herself and Richard, the solicitor, were involved in a hit and run in 2004 ever made public. I remember the mother of the child that was injured recognised Yvonne and that Mike/Bela and Rita were aware of what had happened but did anything ever come of it afterwards.

At least Judy stood up for herself tonight. I had trouble understanding what Zumo was saying to Paddy.

I guess it must have been public enough for Farrell to turn it down I don't remember it ever coming to public light.

I'm still not buying the Farrell blackmail storyline. If he was a bit of a naive and clueless idiot, he might allow himself to be intimidated by Yvonne but he's a high flying barrister and it seems he has criminal contacts as well.

Also, Yvonne appears to be giving no signs of backing off either. She's going to keep on blackmailing him for as long as it suits her and making ever more ridiculous demands, so for him just to keep going along with it makes no sense. Why should he be terrified of her anyway? It's not as if she is some leading gangland figure or something....she's just a rather bitchy manager of the local pub.

I want Carol to come out on top of all this and get the final laugh on Yvonne. I hate how the writers have changed Paul Brennan into this so called hard nut business man, it is making him totally unlikeable.

Finally, Judy addressed things with Luke that have been waiting to be said. I liked that she wants to be with him but this childish behaviour between the two brothers needs to end. I know that the consequences have been more severe then childhood pranks.

Also, excellent point of how the girls will feel disloyal to their dad if they are nice to Luke.

Good for you Vivienne. Now we will see Paddy's true colors.

New spoilers released! And a huge OMG for what Paddy tells Viv.
Spoiler

I'm really interested to see where this goes now: he's either manipulating Viv for sympathy or they've done a u-turn on his character and want him to be a longer-lasting one. As a villian, he'd have a short shelf life, but as a mixed up man with demons he's learning how to control and confront, he's a decent character.

Also, there's a return, with Doug coming back and falling in with Callum
Spoiler

Yesterday's ep was almost entirely farcical. How in the name of holy handstands was Jack supposed to get himself out of his buggy, open the high gate into the back alley of McCoys, and walk down the busy main road to the park by himself, with no person seeing/stopping him? He's barely able to walk, ffs! I tell ya, on their best days, FC can blow the other soaps out of the water when it comes to suspension of disbelief! Also, since when did Carol's flat have a balcony? In all the time that she was living there with Billy, Lorcan, Ally, Young Lorcan, and when Zumo/the Bishops were there, there was no balcony. In fact, when Ally and Young Lorcan were there, it was a ground floor flat because you used to see the street when she was bringing the buggy in!

Couldn't agree more on both these points. I thought the same thing when I read the spoilers on Paddy. I hope this gets the show back on track.

Also, it seemed that a scene had been cut. When they came back from the break Carol was roaming around the pub calling for Jack. Surely, they would have shown her finding him missing. I thought the whole thing was ludicrous.

Val is driving me crazy. So quick to judge people especially after what her darling son did to Christy and Delores.

I've noticed there's been a few scenes 'cut' lately.

Yeah, Val is annoying me now. She was fine when she came into it, but now they've turned her into a younger Esther or something. Now, I know a few women like Esther, but they all have a quality to them that lets them get away with acting like that. They may be interfering old biddies but there's something under that that makes you think A) they really do give a damn and B) they have experience and can give you guidance underneath the gossipy exterior.

Val's just coming across as a snotty wagon.
